• Base-Breaking Character: A deep one. It seems that there is not middle ground between the people who see Gene as a true legend of martial arts who was one the most badass guys in real life and those who consider him a delusional old man that only tells lies about himself and big names like Bruce Lee or Steven Seagal. Most of the debate sometimes comes from the simple election to believe him or not to believe him, so once the discussion starts it is difficult to stop it.
• Fandom Rivalry: With Steven Seagal's, for obvious reasons.
• Memetic Mutation: People in the old MMA forums used to post gifs of Grandpa Simpson every time Gene came up.
