Holy Shit Quotient: Very high throughout the story, as pretty much ever character manages to top their last CMOA.
Tear Jerker: Rukth's death, and Vtan's reaction to it:
"Vtan's howl of anguish was heard across the entire battlefield. All across the city, the Jiralhanae's hair stood on end, sensing an unexpected, irrational prick of fear. Even Torikus - nestled high in the strong room of his Scarab - felt it, and the High-Chieftain frowned, perturbed. Something had awoken. Somethingterrible."
The death of the Hunter pair, especially when the last one's final thoughts are of the sweet little girl who befriended them.
That fateful moment, where the Grunts, after being generally awesome enough to hold their own against the encroaching Brute swarm, finally run out of methane to breathe. Note that we are talking about the Grunts that normally serve no other purpose but cannon fodder, beating the crap out of a Brute army. Especially sad because this follows their Crowning Moment Of Awesome. Also a CMOA in itself when the 6 Spec Ops grunts go out in style, taking as many brutes as they could with a suicide grenade rush.
