YMMV / Double Duck

  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Donald Duck and Kay K. Some would argue Kay is a better trade-in than Daisy.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In the 2005 story "Bugged Duck", Donald pretends to be a spy to mess with Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and gets in trouble when a real secret agency believe he's a terrorist. And the story was included with the last Double Duck story published by Boom! Kids.
  • Older Than They Think: Donald is part of a mysterious intelligence agency fighting dangerous criminals working for unspecified hostile foreign powers, and his partner is a mysterious and more experienced female spy. Are we talking about Double Duck? No: this is the plot of "Moldfinger or The Spy Who Ducked-Out On Me", the first of the PIA (Private Intelligence Agency) stories, affectionate parodies of James Bond (at first) where Donald works to protect Scrooge's economic empire from various threats and is partnered with Daisy (yes, she's a more experienced spy than Donald). While the stories eventually became Flanderized and Daisy's appearances became more sporadic, the stories still exist and are even referenced in the PKNA crossover.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: As usual for Italian comics due Values Dissonance. For example (as typical of Italian Disney stories), you get realistic guns everywhere... Including in Donald's hands. And this time it's not a shotgun with salt shells...
