- Hype Backlash: The pop music blog Popjustice had this to say about the admitted failure of her sophomore single:
Daisy Dares You seemed like a good idea at one point, but by the time she started actually releasing music it turned out that she was the worst major label pop signing of the last five years.
- I Am Not Shazam / I Am the Band: It's not certain whether 'Daisy Dares You' refers to the singer or her entire band. Daisy has stated that 'Daisy Dares You' is a "band project", but it's generally accepted to treat 'Daisy Dares You' as a stage name.
- Maturity Is Serious Business:
"I'm not like a little girl who writes about fancying boys. I'm a musician..."
- True Art Is Angsty: Daisy holds this view of music, despite the fact she — either is or was — signed to a major label, utilises rappers in her songs, uses Auto-Tune, and covers artists such as Rihanna when performing live. However, she acknowledges that the songs she writes generally "come out as pop".
