YMMV / Cameron

  • Common Knowledge: The Melina/Alicia Fox match Ariane cited as her favorite on Tough Enough was often claimed by smarks to be a Squash Match - just to further sell the 'this idiot knows nothing about wrestling' narrative among her detractors. Brie Bella even mistakenly said she thought it was the match that had been on Raw the previous weeknote  - but Melina and Alicia Fox wrestled each other most in the summer of 2010, with their SummerSlam bout being the only one considered truly lacklustre (due to Melina apparently injuring her knee at the start of it). Ariane never clarified which specific match it was, but they did have one later in the year on Superstars that Diva Dirt called "PPV worthy".
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: She wore a blonde wig as part of her gimmick in FCW - and would get embarrassed whenever it was ripped off. As of late 2013 she became blonde for real.
  • Love to Hate: Much in the same way of other famous bad girls like Maryse and Maxine. Fans were actually clamoring for her to turn heel for ages.
  • Memetic Mutation: Her "Girl Bye" Catchphrase.
  • Never Live It Down:
    • "My favorite match was with Melina vs Alicia Fox".note  Hilarious in Hindsight once she wrestled Alicia Fox in her third WWE match. Fans joked that she finally got to work with her "idol".
    • Her famous botched pin attempt seems to be eclipsing thisnote . If one went exclusively by smark opinion, Cameron was eliminated from Tough Enough for the above reason, had that one match and then did nothing else at all.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
    • Cameron zig zags through this trope. She was despised by wrestling fans after her appearance on WWE Tough Enough. She did gradually get fans after they saw her work in FCW - and even more after she debuted on the main roster. Her Total Divas persona did get her some X-Pac Heat who assumed it was her real personality, but she maintained some fans.
    • Her match with Asuka on NXT was praised, as Cameron held her own for the most part and has visibly improved in the ring. Many believed that she was even ready to return to the main roster. At the very least, many people consider her leagues above Eva Marie, to the point that they'd preferred she'd be pushed in Eva's stead. Then she was released.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Funkadactyls break-up was abruptly stopped, apparently because Cameron wanted to go down to NXT to get more training. However, even before then, their only match happened on the pre-show of a PPV. Said match ended with Cameron cheating to get the win, and it was never followed up on. As Naomi had been putting herself forward as a title contender, it could have set her up as a solo competitor. They did eventually give it some resolution with a match on Raw, once the Total Divas episode dealing with their break-up aired.
  • Unexpected Character: Four and half years since her last wrestling match in February 2016, she (under her real name Ariane Andrew) made a completely unexpected appearance in All Elite Wrestling as Nyla Rose's partner for the AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament. Despite being eliminated by Tay Conti and Anna Jay in the first round, Ariane surprised most viewers (who admittedly had held low expectations) with her solid performance, with some even calling on AEW to sign her as a regular.
