• Anvilicious: Misogyny is wrong, m'kay? Taken as far as it could go with a character that literally claims the women in his family aren't human.
• Harsher in Hindsight: When Tara asks Willow how she can make her feel the way she does, and Willow responds "Magic." In season 6, Willow erases Tara's memory to make her feel love instead of anger towards her with magic.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: The Scoobies rally around Tara to protect her from her abusive family. In 2020, the casts of both Buffy and Angel all came out to support Charisma Carpenter when she shared her story of being abused by Joss Whedon.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Buffy not wanting Dawn to hang around short people. By Season six, she'll be shorter than her 'little' sister.
• Moral Event Horizon: "Tara, if you don't get in that car I swear by God I'm gonna beat you down."
• Retroactive Recognition: This was one of many pre-fame TV guest spots for Amy Adams in the early 2000s. A handful of years after this, she would have a more prominent part in Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can, before breaking out fully with her Oscar-nominated role in Junebug and her leading role in Enchanted.
