• Anvilicious: While pants-soilingly disturbing, the most heavy-handed part is Cordelia fire hosing down the brainwashed parents.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Willow's joke to her mother - "see any goats lying around? No because I sacrificed them". In "Bargaining Part 1", Willow sacrifices a deer for its blood to be used in Buffy's resurrection. It's presented as a very dark moment for her and marks the start of...
  • Willow again jokes about being filled with "black, naughty evil", which is very awkward to watch since she becomes the Big Bad of Season 6. And it's accompanied by Evil Wears Black, Black Eyes of Evil, black hair, and black Tainted Veins.
  • Cordelia comments to Giles that one day he's going to "wake up in a coma" on account of all the head traumas he keeps receiving. At the end of season 4 of Angel, Cordelia is left in a coma. In an episode of Season 5, she seemingly wakes up but at the end Angel gets a call from the hospital about her death and it turns out that she'd been a solid Astral Projection the whole time. She literally "woke up in a coma."
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Joyce's Armour-Piercing Question to Buffy - "Are they running out of vampires?" - and assertion that Buffy's efforts are "fruitless" were proved wrong two episodes earlier. "The Wish" showed what Sunnydale would be like if Buffy had never come and... it's pretty horrific.
