Big things are happening on TV Tropes! New admins, new designs, fewer ads, mobile versions, beta testing opportunities, thematic discovery engine, fun trope tools and toys, and much more - Learn how to help here and discuss here.
These are what we call the 'YMMV items.' Things that some people find in this work. We call them 'your mileage might vary' because not everyone sees these things in the same way. This starts discussions in the trope lists, a thing we don't want. Please use the discussion page if you'd like to discuss any of these items.
YMMV: Bringing Down the House
Awesome Moments: Charlene fighting Peter's racist ex-sister-in-law, Ashley, in the country club bathroom and winning.
Charlene: And I don't EVER want to have this conversation again!
Family-Unfriendly Aesop: So what if acting and speaking intelligibly and basic politeness would take you a long way? Act like you're fresh out of a back alley and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, or they're a sellout!
Funny Moments: Peter going undercover. He looks like a thirty-year-older Eminem.
Refuge in Audacity: The elderly rich woman Peter is trying to entice into becoming a client for his law firm begins singing a "Negro spiritual" while having dinner with Peter and his kids. Charlene is so outraged she begins smashing stuff in the kitchen before she picks up a kitchen knife and starts entertaining certain thoughts... before the laxative-spiked food Peter ate (which was intended for the woman) kicks in and his stomach begins LOUDLY protesting.
