* BaseBreakingCharacter: Eiji. He alters Rin's mind to get her to stay with him forever and [[{{Chickification}} forgives her violent tendencies because of her beauty]].
** Iyo. In episode 8, [[spoiler: she tries to rape Eiji after he is drugged and handcuffed to a bed]], which sure ticked off a lot of viewers who viewed Iyo as the only likable character in the series.
* BrokenBase: Depending on who you ask, anywhere starting between chapter 31-33 and onward, either the series introduced a great plot twist and took the story in an interesting new direction or completely ruined the story with a nonsensical plot twist and the story is now an incomprehensible mess. It doesn't help matters that the scanlation group dropped the translation for the latter reason.
* SoBadItsGood: The anime adaptation has a reputation for this, due to all the cuts, deviations and extremely bizarre additions that have made the story a lot less coherent and logical. People have hailed it as one of the best nonsensical comedies of the Spring2016Anime season. Some viewers who had read the entire manga even consider the anime to have had a better ending than its source material... which is saying a lot!
* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: From its S&M undertones to its extreme violence to its depictions of incest and rape, Big Order would make even the most laconic fans sit up and take notice.
** Some fans even went so far as to compare the series to Anime/AngelCop and Manga/ViolenceJack for its [[AllAnimeIsNaughtyTentacles Gorn and Porn]].
