And oh yeah, there are more of them being born every year, because we killed off most of the animals that keep their numbers down...
• Tear Jerker: It's hard not to get a tear when Whip's first mate Mike, an all-around agreeable sort, is abruptly devoured by the squid after spending half the book scared shitless of it.
