• Awesome Music:
  • The titular Battle In Outer Space track, which is Akira Ifukube’s military march theme at his finest. It helps that a lot of it was recycled from the military march for Godzilla (1954), and was reused for the climax of Shin Godzilla.
  • The films main title theme, an exciting, bombastic piece which is comparable to Star Wars.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The helmets◊ on the aliens costumes bare a striking similarity to the Scout Troopers in Return of the Jedi.
  • The movie is set in the year 1965 and features a track that would later be reworked as the Great Monster War March for Invasion of Astro-Monster in 1965.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: Tsuburaya was at the top of his game with this movie. The miniatures are some of the most impressive to have ever been pulled off. This is especially apparent during the battle on the moon and the destruction to the many famous landmarks in the 3rd act.
