YMMV / Batman: Gotham Knight

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: The Fakirs. Cassandra claims that they were essentially a bunch of bored old men who trained her while she amused them and then cast her out when she embarrassed them. At the same time, we definitely see them turn down Bruce's request for training, on the basis that they felt he was not being honest with them. Which in all likelihood, he was not. When he offers to pay them more, they make it clear that it isn't a matter of money, but principal. Given this, its possible that Cassandra actually failed a Secret Test of Character by not eventually coming clean, resulting in her expulsion. This might similarly make Cassandra something of a hypocrite, given she likewise expelled Bruce after his own failed test.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Ramirez is shown to admire and respect the Batman here, but in The Dark Knight she aggressively blames him for everything that's going wrong, especially the deaths of two officers, and then shows us just how much of a hypocrite she truly is when she's exposed as one of the traitors in Gordon's unit - and then promptly pimp slapped for her treacherous hypocrisy by an angry Two-Face.
    • Retconned due to the novelization addressing Ramirez as Renee Montoya instead.
  • Moment of Awesome: Batman punching Deadshot's bullet out of the air.
    • On a similar note, Deadshot performing a perfect headshot on a target that's more than several miles away, while riding in a moving Ferris wheel.
  • Narm: Called out in "Have I Got a Story for You".
  • Narm Charm: Batman addressing the appeal of a gun at the start of Deadshot, particularly cos' it's Kevin Conroy's voice.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: This movie aired on Cartoon Network during regular daytime hours, despite being violent enough to warrant airing on [adult swim] instead. To the network's credit, though, they at least toned down some of the violence and aired the movie with a TV-14 rating.
