YMMV / Bambi Meets Godzilla
Crowning Moment of Funny: The whole film, but the following moments especially stand out:
The credits consisting only of Marv Newland.
" marv newland produced by mr.&mrs. newland"
Godzilla stepping on Bambi.
"We gratefully acknowledge the city of Tokyo for providing Godzilla for this film"
Godzilla's toes move up and back down at the very end. A hilariously random moment if there ever was one.
Hilarious in Hindsight: Godzilla's feet are rounder, sauropod-like and with relatively short talons, which is how they would come to be designed in
Godzilla (2014) Just Here for Godzilla: His foot rather.
So Bad, It's Good: Enough animators, it seems, thought so that it made #38 on The 50 Greatest Cartoons list. It beat out 57 other shorts that were runners up for making the list. All just by being a short animation of Godzilla stepping on Bambi by a first time animator.
Tearjerker: If you really love Bambi.
Son Of Bambi Meets Godzilla averts all this.
Tough Act to Follow: Some sequels were made, but the novelty was never so good as in the first installment.
X Meets Y: Some in the remix culture say it is this to a gag parody (which would still be under fair use even for 1969 standards).
