YMMV / Atomic Bomberman

Go To

  • Cult Classic: Is one of the more obscure entries in the series, but those who have played it (or better yet, grew up with it) hold this game up as one of the best in the series.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The game is more popular with American & European Bomberman fans than with Japanese fans. Apart from the references to nuclear and atomic power in both the title and the Bombers' voice lines, the game features a completely different art style from the other games in the series, makes more references to western culture, and was never released in Japan.
  • Tear Jerker: Most of Bomberman's reactions to being cornered are pretty funny, but one of them is to just start crying. It's not uncommon for players who see this to feel bad, even if they're on the delivering end of it.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: The game's many unique and violent death animations, despite being cartoonishly over the top, have gotten many Bomberman fans who haven't played this game wondering this.
