- Cult Classic: While not very well known, the people that are aware of this series praise it for its focus on relatively unknown tales and using a varied set of animation.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The episodes people know the most of are Cap O'Rushes and Persephone's story.
- Nightmare Fuel
- In How Tortoise Won Respect, the scenes where the monster Gongqongqo starts threatening the animals is a bit intense. Also, the scene where he ends up getting ugly welts on his body when the bees sting him from the inside out is shown in disturbing detail.
- In The Three Sisters Who Fell into the Mountain, the scene where the Troll starts chasing the girls to their house and starts shaking up their house to get them out is intense.
- In Aunt Tiger, the Tiger tries to eat three children to complete his spell. Probably the scariest scene in the entire episode was when the tiger disguises himself as the children's aunt and then kidnaps the youngest son while the little sister is occupied.
