YMMV: Amiga

  • Animation Age Ghetto: One reason the Amiga was never taken seriously by the mainstream computer community in the U.S., outside of hackers and creative people, was Commodore's assocation with gaming.
  • Even Better Sequel: To the Commodore 64.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Was much more popular overseas. The Amiga did find a niche stateside among gamers and media professionals.
  • Vindicated by History: Despite its iconic status, the Amiga was slow to catch on. The platform didn't really take off until two years after its initial release when the Amiga was bifurcated into the "professsional" line with the Amiga 2000 and the "consumer" line with the 500.
