What's with Andy? was a Canadian animated series about Andy Larkin, a boy who strives to become the greatest prankster in the world. Most episodes focus on a new prank he has in mind for his annoying sister Jen, his boring school, or even the whole town of East Gackle. The show is based on the Just...! series of children's books by Australian writer Andy Griffiths. It lasted three seasons, running from 2001-2007.

!! This show provides examples of:
* AntiHero: Andy.
* AttractiveBentGender: When Andy is in drag to bother Jen, Craig falls for him.
* BlackBestFriend: Danny Pickett to Andy and Teri to Jen.
* BraggingThemeTune: All three of them, even!
* BrainyBrunette: Martin, Lori, and the kids Jen babysat. Also, Andy in a weird way: he may not be nerdy, but he's quite intelligent.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Andy, when he's narrating.
* TheBully: Lik, Leech, and to a lesser extent Jen, Jervis, and Teri. Andy can be a bit of a bully towards Jen and Teri but he doesn't mean to do anything terribly wrong.
* CallingYourBathroomBreaks:
** In Busting, Andy, while going through his PottyEmergency, does a lot of this. From "Bathroom, bathroom, please" to "Coming through, full bladder."
** In The Show Must Go On, as a prank, some kindergarten students were singing the alphabet and pretending to hate school (long story). It mainly went "Q, R, and S. We're in distress." and "W, X, Z. Please set us free!" etc, etc, but one boy went "N, O, and P. I have to pee." Then he went "T, U, and V. I still have to pee." Justified, as he is just a little kid.
** Danny at one point says he needs to "go" during The Toilet Paper Fiasco.
** In What's With Jean-Thomas?, Andy in disguise as his long-lost brother says "I have to go soon". Lori replies "So do I. It's those big drinks they serve."
* CanadaEh: In Season Two, the show gets relocated to Canada.
* CheckPlease: Andy's Catchphrase, usually said after a successful prank.
* ChasedByAngryNatives: Happens to Andy quite a bit, usually when he goes for town-wide pranks.
* ComedicUnderwearExposure: A staple of many episodes, happening to Andy. Also happens to Mr Larkin in both Weight to Go, Andy and What's With Jean-Thomas?. Happens to everyone in the pantsing episode.
** NakedPeopleAreFunny: And sometimes, his underwear wasn't the only thing exposed.
* CouchGag: Season One theme song has one different line per each episode, describing the premise.
** The Canadian prints (both English and French language ones) of Season One's opening also showed each time different footage (coming from the episode shown after the theme song) during that line.
* DeadpanSnarker: Danny and sometimes Andy. Jen can be a bit snarky but she's not deadpan.
* DeanBitterman: Principal [=DeRosa=], who's forever trying to punish Andy and Danny- he also is very broad-shouldered.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: A lot of Andy's pranks usually wind up backfiring because of some oversight he doesn't catch in time.
* DisguisedInDrag: In the very first episode, Andy decides to annoy his sister Jen by mimicking everything she does. This bites him in the butt when Jen goes to the school dance in a dress. Craig Bennett immediately falls for him once he arrives at the dance.
** Also happens with Danny in What's With Jean-Thomas?. Andy was pretending to be his long-lost brother to woo Lori, and when he'd had enough, he tried to make the fake brother have a girlfriend. No girls wanted him, due to a NoodleIncident known as The Prank, so he had to dress Danny in drag.
** In Emergency Spew Relish, Andy and Danny dress up as "grannies" in the end.
** While watching a movie in The Prank That Never Happened, Al says that in the movie the lady was actually a man in drag.
* TheDiaperChange: At the end of Daddy, Andy and Lori have to change diapers when babysitting twin babies.
* DonutMessWithACop: Parodied. During careers week, a kid is told by the cop he is partnered with to memorise the different kinds of doughnuts there are since this is a crucial aspect of becoming a real cop.
* FailureHero: Both this and InvincibleHero are averted - Andy gets a balanced amount of both victories and failures. Until Season 3 that is, where he fails and gets chased by angry mobs every time.
* FakingTheDead: Andy in Playing Dead.
* GirlsLoveChocolate: Andy believes this to be true, but that's only because Jen and Teri love chocolate. It is unknown how Lori feels about it.
* HighSchoolHustler: Andy.
* InTheBlood: Andy's grampa is a noted prankster too, and it was sometimes hinted that Andy's dad may have also been one.
* TheKeyIsBehindTheLock: In the episode "The Great American Lock-In", Andy reverses the locks in the front doors of his school, then lures in Lik and Leech. Unfortunately, he managed to drop the keys outside of the school.
* LoveInterest: Lori to Andy, and sometimes vice versa. In Romancing the Prank, Danny gets a crush on a girl named Rachel. Jen and Teri both have crushes on a jock named Craig Bennett, and of course, Mr and Mrs Larkin are married.
* LeastRhymableWord: In "Rhyme Time" Andy has to rhyme for a whole week due to a bet he has made with Jen. She tries to trick him with the word "orange".
** During that episode Jen and Teri also tried to get him with "raisin" and "month". Andy uses "Phrasin'" and a lisped "dunce" respectively.
* MoralityChain: Lori, to Andy. His pranking plans are often ruined by his wish to make her like him.
* MyHovercraftIsFullOfEels: In What's With Jean-Thomas?, Lori asks the disguised Andy what "If you practice, you could win the Stanley Cup" in French was. Andy's reply actually translates to "Your ears are so big that you look like the Stanley Cup".
* Narrator: Andy sometimes.
* NominalHero: Andy most of the time. In most episodes, he is malicious, but not outright destructive, and is contrasted by his rather unlikable victims.
* NotMeThisTime: Happens to Andy on a few occasions when something weird happens without his involvement. He usually still gets blamed regardless due to his reputation for pranking.
* NothingExcitingEverHappensHere: Andy's usual drive for being a prankster. He considers East Gackle utterly boring and wants to use his pranks to liven the town up a bit. Of course, as stated in his theme song, they tend to grow from what he intends and cause trouble.
* PlayingSick: Andy, Danny, and in Gooey Chewies.
* PottyEmergency: In "Busting", soon after Andy engages in a drinking contest.
** Downplayed in The Show Must Go On. A small boy says that he has to pee during the modified alphabet song.
** Also in What's With Jean-Thomas?, Andy in disguise as his long lost brother says "I have to go soon.", to which Lori replies "So do I. It's those big drinks they serve."
* PottyDance: In "Busting", his motto becomes "Hold it in. Do a dance. That's the way to keep dry pants."
* PottyFailure: Downplayed in The Show Must Go On. A preschooler says "I wet my pants", but it's not important to the plot. Also averted in Busting, but lampshaded a few times by Lik saying "Little accident, Andy-wandy?" and Andy himself asking "Did I go yet?"
* PrinceOfPranksters: Andy's main character trait.
** ThePrankster: Andy, and to a lesser extent Grandpa and Danny. Mr Larkin used to be this and Mr Mackney is also a prankster.
* ReplacedTheThemeTune: Three times in the entire series.
* TheRival: Bryan and Jervis to Andy, Mr Vole to Mr Larkin, and Mayor Simms of West Gackle to East Gackle's mayor Henry Roth.
* SadistTeacher: Principal [=DeRosa=] again.
* SociopathicHero: Andy, who faked his own death by making a life-sized doll of himself commit suicide by jumping off a waterfall...as a joke.
* StepforwardSnarker: Andy can be this. He's not that snarky, but when he's bored he says things like "kill me now!".
* StopCopyingMe: Andy copies Jen in Just Stuffing.
* TimeStandsStill: When Andy narrates.
* TinkleInTheEye: When Andy is changing a baby boy's diaper in Daddy.
* TitleDrop: In What's With Jean-Thomas?
---> Lori (to Danny): I know this is like trying to get Napoleon to spill the beans on his horse, but, what's with Andy?"
* ThoseTwoGuys: Lik and Leech, and to a lesser extent Andy and Danny and Jen and Teri.
* ToiletHumor:
** Andy pretending to vomit and laying a stink bomb in Emergency Spew Relish.
** Andy and Lori changing diapers in Daddy.
** Andy's PottyEmergency in Busting
** A preschooler talking about peeing in The Show Must Go On.
** Danny claiming that seeing the giant toilet roll in The Toilet Paper Fiasco made him need to "go".
** This conversation in What's With Jean-Thomas?
---> Andy (pretending to be his long-lost brother): "I need to go soon".
---> Lori: "So do I. It's those big drinks they serve".
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: burgers to Andy. Chocolate to Jen and Teri.
* VillainProtagonist: Andy at his worst. Some of his pranks, such as when he convinced Jen she was becoming a dog, ultimately amount to psychological torture, but on Andy's side, he often doesn't know the joke will be that serious. There's a reason why the first theme song has the lyric "Started out as a prank, but then got way out of hand."
* WeightWoe: In Weight to Go, Andy, Jen and the Larkin parents worry about their weight. Jen because a gym meet is coming up, Freida because she is going to go to a party where a woman she is jealous of will be, and Al because an interview with his boss (a health nut) is coming up.
* WhichRestroomDilemma: Andy when he was DisguisedInDrag in Just Stuffing.
* YouDontWantToCatchThis: In Emergency Spew Relish, Andy and Danny want to evacuate a train car by various shenanigans. There's one man who Andy successfully scares away by pretending to have "rhino-google-osis."
