note This is a Just for Fun bit. It is all about the tropes surrounding on the original Family Guy's pre-revival seasons. If you're feeling free to add more information or edit some stuff in here by giving it a more detailed description and/or more tropes, please forget the fact that it was Un-Cancelled and that the show is still running. In short, this is an AU!work page about Family Guy where it was Too Good to Last. Let's face it, some of us well remember Family Guy's golden years and we're not letting no Nostalgia Filter get in our way.Or simply titled as
Family Guy, is an American
animated series created by
Seth MacFarlane for
FOX. The series centers on the Griffins, a
dysfunctional family who gets into, well
a bunch of crazy stuff. Most episode plots consist of everyday hijinks with the occasional
Hilarity Ensues moment and they mostly center around, Peter—the father and apparently, main protagonist (it's called
Family Guy for a reason).
The show first aired in 1999 and has pretty much the quirks of a
90s animated sitcom. For a while, it was a success during its three season run and DVD sales were impressive. It had great ratings, a huge fanbase, and of course, like any animated sitcom that sometimes delves into
Crosses the Line Twice, controversy was not avoidable. The other unavoidable controversy is the opinions of some critics that it the show itself ripped-off
The Simpsons. After its third season, the show was unfortunately cancelled, at least completely, in late 2003. Despite this, the show retains a huge fanbase.
