Everything is Terrible! was created by three people known as Ghoul Skool, Commodore Gilgamesh and Future Shlock as a way of showing the world their VHS tape collection. All of them are so bad they're good. Common topics include outdated instructional videos (especially on using the Internet) and B- and Z-grade movies condensed into three minutes.
EIT! not only post their finds on their website, but also travel around the United States holding shows that showcase their favorites. They're also responsible for Memory Hole, a similar series where a host guides viewers through clips, as well as the world's largest Jerry Maguire VHS collection that they hope to fashion into a desert pyramid.
Works by Everything is Terrible! include:
- Everything Is Terrible! The Movie (2009) — The collective's first film, compiling content from the first two years of the site.
- 2Everything 2Terrible 2: Tokyo Drift (2010) — Twice the terrible, but packed with even more website clips.
- DoggieWoggiez! PoochieWoochiez! (2012) — A "collage" of various Precious Puppy videos edited into a shot-for-shot remake of Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain.
- Everything Is Terrible! Holiday Special (2012) —
- EIT! Does the Hip-Hop Vol. 1: Gettin' a Bad Rap! (2013) — A collection of Piss-Take Raps from around the corporatesphere.
- Comic Relief Zero (2013) — A marathon of worst stand-up comedy videos of yesteryear.

- Manipulative Editing: Present far and wide, from simple jump cuts, through adding an ominous drone on top of the montage, to outright messing with the footage's colors to make it look devilish.

- So Bad, It's Good: Invoked. The entire point of the site is to showcase examples of this.
- Stylistic Suck: Their vanity plate, shown above. Many of their videos also have scanlines or other VHS artifacts, which is justified, since they are digitized VHS tapes, but it really adds to the effect.
- Too Incompetent to Operate a Blanket: Many, many featured infomercials.
- Totally Radical: Many videos targeted toward kids and teens suffer from this, such as BoardBudz.
- Unintentional Period Piece : A great, great deal of the videos showcased are products of their time. The presentation of the intros and such invoke this sensation and are aware of how dated they are.
