Sonic And Pals - Television Tropes & Idioms

Sonic and Pals is a Sprite Comic by Trevor Fayas parodying the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

It is most notable because of the fact that it started in 2003 and has been updated with a new comic nearly every day since January 2004 and has thus become the longest-running Sonic the Hedgehog Sprite Comic on the web. (Which isn't saying much.)

The comic has many storylines from the characters playing through Sonic games, to Terminatoresque plots, to adaptions of Shakespeare's plays, to Demon hunting spacemen. It has been concluded as of June 19th, 2011, over seven years after it began.

Apocalypse How - Two X-4s by different groups. Chaos faction destroys the alternate universe, Hero faction lets the Hunters destroy theirs.

Battle Couple - Justified by Andrew, Hunters are encouraged to find a partner so they have something to protect.

- Trey is an interesting variation in that he seems to have become one against his will.
Dropped a Bridge on Him - Metal Robotnic was recently killed just to tie up loose ends (He was presumed to have done this to Eggman offscreen earlier). And now the alternate universe was destroyed to set up Neo Mephiles.
Dropped a Bridget on Him - Subverted, and then the subversion is subverted further. The Selestial character was apparently based on a real girl. She was Trey's friend and he had done a lot for her. She lived with a guy named Ozymandias (Ozy) who took care of her. It turns out Selly never existed and Ozy created her to catch pedophiles, but got himself in a situation where he was forced to act as her. The Selly character disappeared from the comic once this was revealed.
- Well, she actually went to another universe. In which she met Alternate Tails and had a son, Alternate Peter.
Drowning My Sorrows - With Pixie-sticks.
Enemy Mime - Lampshaded
Eye Beams - Metal Sonic, however he uses them as more of a Mundane Utility then he does for actually combat.
Fridge Horror - If you even think about sticking a few select gears from the franchise continuity into the machine behind Sap, you will quickly wish you hadn't. For instance, in Sap's continuity, Amy is paired with Knuckles. There is a very good reason for this.

Status Quo Is God - Even after having an intelligence boost, Sonic somehow reverted to stupid somewhere along the line without any help or explanation. And immediately after Selly leaves, another character is introduced to take her place.
- Taken to a literal extreme where when they break it, reality collapses.
Summoning Ritual - When Selly pulls an angel out of the eighth chaos emerald
Super Mode - When Sonic uses the seven chaos emeralds he becomes Super Sonic.
- Taken to near God Mode proportions when Sonic, Tails and Selly use Eight Chaos Emeralds
Terminator Twosome: Emerl and Mephiles. Emerl actually fails due to circumstances unrelated to Mephiles, who is now back in the game.
Timey Wimey Ball - Emerls backstory was rendered highly impropable soon after his appearance. And has now become completely impossible now that Selly's son has died with the alternate universe.
Too Dumb to Live - Sonic, just Sonic.
No Fourth Wall - Broken continually along with The theoretical fifth wall which governs the webcomics laws.
Ominous Floating Castle - The Demon Hamster Lords castle. Though the whole Pink hamster wheel thing does kill off the whole "Ominous" Vibe.
