Monroe, Quinn and Bjorn, aka The 'Misfits of Mischief', are trickster demigods who wander from parallel reality to parallel reality, trying to findthe perfect place to settle down and hide out from the multitude of Gods, monsters, spirits and otherworldly beings that they've annoyed, includingtheir own fathers, who apparently want to EAT them.
This is the tale of their trip to Shelterville, a Pocket Nexus Point in The Multiverse, patterned after the Old West. All they want is a way back totheir home cluster of parallel realities, but, for a trinity of trickster demigods, things are NEVER simple.
This series contains examples of:
- Author Appeal: Tasked with designing Lainey McGraw, the owner of the Silver Pen Saloon, The Cartoonist made her a rather buxom and ruebenesque redhead.
- Badass Normal: The creepy elf general is tough enough to take a punch from a demigod, then give back in kind - kicking then choking Monroe unconscious.
- The Big Guy: Cupid, the messenger of love is prettymuch a hulk in this comic - so much so that as he gets angrier, he gets bigger!
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: "Dusty Dave" Graves is the town's gravedigger... and he's dusty.
- Extreme Omnisexual: All three of the metamorphic demigods have often been shown to have romantic and sexual liasons with all manner of humanoid, non-humanoid and alien beings. Particularly after Mz. Lainey McGraw put them to work.
- From Bad to Worse: Angry that their husband has been assaulted, Bjorn and Quinn transform into inhuman beasts to battle the elf general. The creepy elf general responds by reaching into his trenchcoat and whipping out MJOLNIR!
- Goggles Do Nothing: Quinn. Subverted when he morphs his costumes and forms. They can be anything from nerd glasses to his own spider-eyes.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The two captured elves are a bit too chatty with the Misfits of Misfits, so, The Creepy Elf General had them eliminated.
