Creepbury Close is a horror-sitcom-style comic series created by Topperhay and Granitoons and is updated on their webpages on DeviantArt. It focuses on the everyday (or night) lives of a suburb of various horror-based characters. Despite their creepy appearances and settings, they have the same ups and downs of any neighbourhood.
This series provides examples of the following:
- Abandoned Hospital: Not exactly abandoned, but there's certainly not a lot of staff or patients there.
- Ax-Crazy / Battleaxe Nurse: Nurse Hearse - she's pretty psychotic and her weapon of choice is an axe.
- Brawn Hilda: Seabury's cousin Rodica, to an extent.
- Butt-Monkey: Mummy's Boy as he's generally the butt of anything that goes wrong.
- Cool Old Lady: Grandma Sangria - the only relative Seabury seems to respect out of love rather than fear or duty.
- Creepy Mortician: Dr. MacAbre, despite the fact that he is ostensibly a doctor.
- Deadpan Snarker: Yorrick's whole personality and to a lesser extent, Count Araktiv.
- English Rose: Faye DeWaye.
- Funny Foreigner: Chef Fibula is a comedy French chef.
- Frankenstein's Monster: Uncle Oaffe and to a lesser extent, Nurse Hearse.
- Greasy Spoon: The Mummy's Cafe.
- The Jeeves: Douglas the wise old oak tree is often consulted for advice.
- Large Ham: Sir Colin Deadgrave the zombie actor is prone to over-acting.
- Motor Mouth: Mummy Dearest - very much so, so much so that other characters find it difficult to get a word in edgeways at times.
- My Beloved Smother: Mummy Dearest still treats her son like he was still a child much to his embarassment.
- Nice Mean And In Between: Sophie (Nice) is friendly, if ditzy. Polly (Mean) is a hot-tempered loudmouth. Lee (In-Between) is a Control Freak obsessed with punctuality and efficiency, but nicer than Polly.
- Non-Malicious Monster: Basically, the entire cast, with the exception of the medics. Seabury is naughty, but he's not evil.
- Only Sane Man: Count Araktiv is the nearest thing the comic has to a staightman.
- Oop North: The Mummies - especially Mummy Dearest - despite being apparently Egyptian.
- Poirot Speak: Chef Fibula's dialogue.
- Proper Victorian Lady: Faye DeWaye is patterned after demure Victorian femininity.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Polly has these.
- The Scottish Trope: The main plot focus of 'Acting The Ghost' where Sir Colin and Yorrick attempt to put a show of Macbeth but everything goes wrong.
- The Scrooge: Dr. MacAbre falls under the Miserly Scotsman type.
- Spoiled Brat: Young Master Seabury, though he frequently get his comeuppance for his misdeeds.
- Stylistic Suck: Seabury's "Flesh" cartoon within a cartoon at the beginning of "The Curse of Creepbury Close".
- Violent Glaswegian: Nurse Hearse has a pronounced Scottish accent, and is easily the most violent member of the cast.
