- Canada, Eh?: Although there's nothing overtly Canadian about the videos, there are multiple references to placed in Canada.
- Gratuitous Foreign Language: meatsleep's video titles and comments are often in a language other than English.
- Hell Is That Noise: The Series.
- Jump Scare: Oddly for this sort of thing, not used as often as one would think. When it is used, however, it is often to great effect - see martober
and commencement
for examples. - Plagiarism: A few of the videos apparently were first uploaded on a now-defunct YouTube channel called "Sewn Kin". A running theory that they were "stolen" from Sewn Kin and reuploaded to meatsleep along with meat's original content. Then again, there's a chance that meatsleep and Sewn Kin are one and the same, or both parts of the same project, or still connected in some way. Nobody's sure would level of madness this is all running on.

meatsleep
(now just "meat" in the username) is an ARG / YouTube channel full of... unsettling videos. Not much is really known about Meatsleep. However, what is known is that Meat is a group of eleven people living in eight separate countries, as revealed in the video "No More." All of the decisions based upon the story of Meatsleep were based upon the roll of a dice. Decisions such as who films the video, who makes the audio, who edits the video, and the use of rumors in the videos were made using a dice. Other decisions that add to the story such as gender, participants, and whether or not Meatsleep is a cannibal, rapist, kidnapper, or oddball were also decided with this system. This ARG unfortunately ended prematurely because the fans started to harass, stalk, and be generally rude to others, and the creators decided to stop posting content to the channel to avoid further harm to people. Not to be confused with Meatspin, which depending on your point of view, might be even more unsettling.Tropes within meatsleep videos
