Black Hole, a graphic novel by Charles Burns featuring mutated teenagers, sex and things that look like vaginas but aren't.
Kit n Kay Boodle, a furry webcomic featuring cute Funny Animal characters having sex, and nothing else.
Splatter, a '90s anthology featuring cannibalism, supernatural murder and werewolf/vampire sex.
Deviant Slice, a political-themed anthology of horror comics.
Up from the Deep, an anthology which includes alien, hillbilly and ghost stories.
Jack is the comic reviewed for the 2012 Halloween Special. A Furry Fandom webcomic featuring highly disturbing content, including mass murder and depictions of hell, mixed in with depressing stories about cancer and jokes about rape by dolphins. (That's right, BY DOLPHINS. Don't ask.)
Affectionate Parody: Of Underground Comics. The Scrutinizer is played by a real-life Underground Cartoonist and enjoys many of the comics he pans on the show. And even in cases where he does dislike the comics he reviews, he admits that he's not as extreme about his views as his character is.
Anachronism Stew: The Scrutinizer suggests that The Fall of Little Red Riding Hood is this, due to one of the characters being named Pablo.
Author Tract: Baranoff breaks character in the Life & Death of Fritz the Cat and Battle Pope videos when he expresses atheist, libertarian and capitalist views which contrast significantly with Comix Scrutinizer's views (Scrutinizer is offended by the anti-religion slant in Battle Pope).
Averted in the Omaha the Cat Dancer episode, as Comix Scrutinizer likes this comic because it's "intellectual".
Comically Missing the Point: This appears to be the main joke in the series, that the Comix Scrutinizer doesn't understand that the things he's complaining about are often the purpose of the work he's reviewing.
Ear Worm:invoked After explaining that the word "Clan" is not connected to the Wu-Tang Clan, Scrutinizer speaks a few lines from their song "Wu Tang Clan Ain't Nothin' To Fuck Wit"
Fetish Retardant:invoked The Scrutinizer says that no one would find Jay Naylor's The Fall of Little Red Riding Hood arousing, as no matter how good looking the human characters are, the wolf genitalia will automatically serve as a turn-off.
Kit n Kay Boodle. As the Scrutinizer notes, it looks like something that "the Care Bears would beat off to". Even if you are a furry, would you find Tastes Like Diabetes cartoon characters having sex arousing? This may be an example of the Comix Scrutinizer Comically Missing the Point, though, as this aspect of the comic may have been played for laughs.
Funny Animal: Quite a few of these comics could qualify as this, although not so much on the "funny" side, but same area. Examples include Air Pirates, The Unfunnies, and the first comic in Death Rattle.
Gag Penis: Binky Brown's. A ray of light comes out of it. And he sees his fingers and feet as penises with rays of light coming out of them, too.
In Kit n Kay Boodle, Kit Boodle has a penis that's half the size of his leg when it's not erect. As the Scrutinizer notes, this somehow doesn't cause Kit to pass out from most of the blood in his body going to his penis, because "the author doesn't know how biology works".
In Joke: In Amputee Love, the Scrutinizer says that Bob the Dog from Horndog would have sex with an amputee. He should know—the actor playing him is that comic's creator.
And in The Life & Death of Fritz the Cat, Scrutinizer refers to "a cat named Charlene", and an image of Charlene Kat from Horndog appears.
Interspecies Romance: The Fall of Little Red Riding Hood is said to be this, but it comes across as rape to the Comix Scrutinizer. Especially considering that the wolves drug Red and Pablo.
Juggalo: In some early videos, Comix Scrutinizer wears a chain with a Hatchetman charm. Even if you don't notice this, Juggalo-related music tends to pop up as the soundtrack to many episodes. However, Scrutinizer isn't a Juggalo, Baranoff is. The Hatchetman charm was dropped from later episodes once the character's suited appearance became established.
Mind Screw: The Scrutinizer finds Bogeyman to be this, due to the use of teddy bear characters in several of its stories.
Beware of the roller skating gorilla.
The Funny Animal story that opens up Death Rattle. It involves a cartoon character murdering his creator.
Nightmare Fuel:invoked The whole plot of The Fall of Little Red Riding Hood involves a tribe of wolves kidnapping, drugging, raping and impregnating human women so that they can destroy the human race and take over the world. Which they ultimately succeed in doing. And this is supposed to be pornography.
And that the first story in Death Rattle looks like the movie Cool World.
Surprise Incest: The Scrutinizer assumes that Kit n Kay Boodle are a married couple, due to having the same last name, but jokes that they might be brother and sister. He later learns that they're not married (due to a panel revealing that they are sending out invitations to their wedding), and suggests that the comic actually does depict Brother-Sister Incest.
