Goddamnit movie, just fuck you!

Chuck Dowling is an internet critic that reviews A-Z horror movies on a yearly basis. His most notable series is 31 Horror Movies in 31 Days. It typical runs in October but has changed since then. A side Series Sci Fi Spring Break and a new series This is not 31 Days. He also the a member of the BAMF cast, podcast, in which they review B-Z grade films. He generally regards the series as a love letter to his fans and in recent years has been holding sweepstakes so his fans can get a large box of films after the months end.

As of 2020 his series was finally put to rest. While not gone he has more or less finished his reviews, although he still uploads on the channel.

  • Accentuate the Negative: Depends on the film and the subject matter. He still takes pot shots when he can.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Played straight, he enjoys films with at least some TNA.
  • All Periods Are PMS: A regular joke is how often horror films treat women.
  • And That's Terrible: Got on a films case for not showing a leads breasts.
"You cast her in a lead, in a horror movies, to not show us her tits...now that's just wrong."
  • Angrish: Oh boy if you manage to piss him off he will go off on a film. There are too many times to list.
  • The Antichrist: Chuck has very much proclaimed certain producers are very much close to this.
  • Appeal to Obscurity: He is very into 70’s and 80’s sitcoms and tv shows.
  • Arch-Enemy:
    • Roger Corman, while he initially viewed him as a kindly old man by the later series he’d had enough of his joyful reminiscing of scenes that are rather upsetting.
    • James Woods, his rather unpleasant rants in John Carpenters Vampires really upset him.
  • Arson Murder And Jay Walking: His reveal of three extremely talented actors comes across as this during the review of 1982's Alone in the Dark.
"This movie stars Academy Award Winner Jack Palance, Academy Award Winner Martin Landeu, and Emmy Nominee Donald Pleasence."
  • Art Evolution: His opening and closing graphics have gotten better through each season. From stagnant jpegs to full blown animated bumpers.
  • As You Know: Uses this from time to time whenever something insane happens. Usually because he can’t summarize what just happened.
  • Author Appeal: Chuck really likes attractive women in his films, explosions, dogs, 80’s lightning effects, and nightgowns.
  • Bait-and-Switch: During the Gamebox 1.0 review he states the film was very relatable due to Danielle Fishel being the main characters dead girl friend and then saying…
"I really liked her as...Blossoms hot friend in Saved by the Bell."
  • Bait-and-Switch Lesbians: A scene from Prom Night 4 had one which raised the film from a single star to four...which procceded to fall after the film revealed it was all a ruse.
  • Bears Are Bad News: During the Grizzly and Grizzly Rage he pretty much makes it known they are going to die.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Any film with any sort of rape; whether it be male or female, expect him to flat out hate or turn on it.
    • Violence towards women is another one of his big buttons.
  • Breather Episode: His rejects videos show a slew of films he watched but didn't have enough material for a review. Generally short and sweet.
  • Buffy Speak: Will resort to this during Sci-Fi Spring Break since you know "science" fiction.
  • Crack is Cheaper: As of 2023 he has over 370 reviews. Several spin off series and a patreon. It’s fair to say marathons of his works are long.
  • Chewing the Scenery: Chuck can and will overact with the best of them.
  • Covers Always Lie: Demonoid got this hard. The film was a boring slog but Chuck ultimately enjoyed the batshit insane cover though.
  • Critic Breakdown: His review of Street Trash begins with him stammering and just going mental about the films odd premise and effects. He gets better though.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He is a master at this.
  • Determinator: Sat threw The Howling, Ghoulies, Python, Witchcraft, and shot on video films purely for his series and despite being horrible came out swingin.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Anytime a woman or dog get abused. He will get rid at least a star or stop caring entirely.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Chuck's reviewing style in season 1&2 is extremely underwhelming as his charisma and snark is at an all time low. He tends to rip them in later seasons.
  • Erotic Film: Chuck will watch any “horror” film that has any nudity regardless of quality. The Hills have Thighs are very much a softcore flick that he "had" to review.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While he does like women and dogs. Violence or abuse of any kind is not tolerated, especially if the abuser gets away with it.
  • Flat "What": Whenever a character in a film says anything remotely dumbfounding this is usually his reply.
    Actors Line: Are you alright?
Actress' Line: How would I know?
    Chuck: What.
  • Funny Background Event: After season 9 he’d get creative with his editing. Making it clear he can point those out.
  • Guilty Pleasure: Quite a few qualify for this. The most popular is anything with Fred Olen Ray attached to it.
  • Happy Place: During the review of Demonoid Chuck decided to just stare at the poster to wash the taste of the film out of his mouth.
  • Hype Backlash: He has reviewed some classics but has different opinions on them.
  • I Hate Past Me: Chuck isn’t too fond of his earliest seasons and apologizes for the earlier reviews.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: This was his view toward Ghoulies and Witchcraft.invoked
  • Jump Scare: He'll see them coming but a rather humorous one in The Relic.
    • Chuck: C'mon movie don't scare me like that.
    • Credi pops up for Tom Sizemore
    • Chuck: Dahhh!
  • Precision F-Strike: Oh boy does he land these with precision to bad movies that fail to impress him.
  • Re-Cut: Several have been altered or changed due to new Blu-Ray transfers and extras. Usually to help him have a better understanding of the film and rate it appropriately.
    • Leviathan got one in season 7, while Contamination got one in season 9.
    • Others like Microwave Massacre have just been updated due to his new format.
  • Reference Overdosed: Chuck has an "Old Man Alarm" that used to go off from time to time when referencing 70's and 80's shows.
  • Take That!: To Cinema Sins when a female actor didn't get a full frontal scene.
"Now that's a cinema sin not some nitpicky bullshit."
  • Teens Are Monsters: He is not too fond of asshole teenagers and has a genuine dislike of slasher teens.
  • Toilet Humor: The Ghoulies go to College has Chuck activily making it clear the toilet shouldn't be a plot point in the film he instantly regrets watching the film after discovering it is.
