Ren's lack of a second eye is what causes Ren to think that emotions are useless.
Renninger, who is pure logic, has revealed that the eyes of candy person double as brains and that they can even live without their eyes (as long as the eyes aren't excessively hurt. To be specific, Candy People get life when an ordinary piece of candy gets a set of eyes.

Ren is also is so far the only candy person that only has one eye.

Emotions themselves are pretty deep too. Without emotions or feelings, a person becomes way too stoic. As Renninger has only one eye, he cannot see depth literally. As this special kind of eyes double as brains, he's unable to think depth.

Here's another likely theory why this WMG works.

The brain has a left side and a right side. The left side is analytic and is used for usability (this is where logic comes from, Ren's ultimate desire). The right side, however, is creative and used for design (this is where intuition, passion and emotion come from). As told before, Ren only has one eye, so this theory directly says that Ren literally misses a part of his brain. What supports this theory is that Renninger does actions quite what a left brain does: he constantly uses logic and he only looks at parts of things instead of a whole.

Murphey's boss is none other than Chutlo.
According to Word of God, Chutlo is a masked vigilante and was dressed as his non-superheroic self when he makes a cameo in the flashbacks. What if he employed Murphey and staged some higher force stuff, to keep Ren's plot in check?

Murphey's boss is none other than Tucker.
Because he made the story so... of course.

Murphey's boss is none other than the quasi-corporeal being that gave Daniel the magical bag
.Both are unseen (except for the latter being very vaguely visible), and both have been introduced to the viewer in the epilogue. Both are quite magical too.

The quasi-corporeal being is the God of the Primals
His appearance (that is very vaguely seen) resembles Banter. Banter is a Primal, so the being may be a Primal. But he comes from a sudden light, and as said before, his face is very vaguely seen, not to mention is colorless. Plus, he gives Daniel a magical Bag of Holding that defeated the evil Jackoninger merge. Sounds like a powerful deity to me.
  • Supported. I went back and used paint-bucket in an attempt to see its face, and it looks pretty much like a huge angry old Primal. Also, Banter describes the experience as awesome for Daniel, which makes sense- his older brother is a Primal. Also could explain why it's a secret to them- because it only really matters to them.

There will be a sequel.
Several loose ends exist in the story- last we see, Elias, Banter, and Daniel are holding a party, Jakob and Catherine are now in a relationship, and there's a pumpkin resembling Jackoren's face lying outside what looks like an un-candy corned version of Ren's house. In addition, Word of God says stories like Murphey's boss and Daniel's encounter with the quasi-corporeal being are different stories that may be told. That leaves plenty of Sequel Hooks lying around.
  • Confirmed with the release of Holly. Thought it is set on the same place after the events of TRICK, no TRICK character has appeared so far.

The sequel or spinoff will include guessed characters and candy people that only made cameos.
This includes something between the lines of rock candy chefs, licorice coin ninjas, and of course, Chutlo the peppermint candy.

The Ren that we know isn't the real Ren.
This troper believe that this Ren is not exactly the true Ren. The true Ren either:

a) Was possesed by another halloween demon, which could explain why he acts like this. And as such, the demon tried to invoke Jackobel, and probably would also invoke the rest of the halloween demons.

b) Died before the events of party and TRICK itself. As such, the Ren we know is probably an impostor and possibilty the culprit of the Ren's death. As such, he hid Ren's corpse or either destroyed him apart and decided to live the last of his live portraying as Ren, though he can't hide his true personality, however he can fake Ren's personality at the point that the friends couldn't notice any single difference. Also, the murderer is the one that Murphey is looking for, not actually Ren.

c) Have an identical twin, which switched sides with him.Think about it, in Act 4, we see Ren in a roof. How did exactly he got there? If he tried to go there, Jackobel would probably see him. The true Ren stayed at the DJ Booth and tried to save the other candy people, however, he died in the process. Thus, the twin, since he knows how Ren is, starts to act like him.

Murphey's boss is also Chutlo's boss
In GOBBLE's epilogue, someone is calling in Chutlo for a presumably Christmas-related mission, which could be keeping something under control, like Murphey's mission. The creator also created some parody art with Chutlo based on Batman: Arkham Origins, in which a masked vigilante faces evil in a city near Christmas. Foreshadowing, anyone?
