WMG / The Wandering Inn

Go To

There is no way back
The enchantments that brought the real-world people to the InnWorld are one-way only.
The creatures who visited various Earthers on the Solstice are dead gods
The coin Erin was given has a god's name on it, which a native nearly dies from reading.
  • As of book 7, confirmed.

Goblins are a manufactured Race
Elves and Gnomes both existed in the far past, and Goblins have been refereed to as "the youngest race" before, while faeries find them and their current situation to be terribly sad. It is possible that Goblins were created by them for some purpose, but have since lost their original purpose for existence. This drives a Goblin who's memory visions extend back far enough insane and turn them into a Goblin King.

The Elves and/or Fey Killed the gods of the Innworld
  • Titania the Fairy Queen is said to have died in one of the Land of the Fey's many interventions into the Innworld over the millennia. Nowadays, some of the Winter sprites mention being wary of influencing worlds in general because some of them have gods that take offense.
  • The elves are Shrouded in Myth, but were powerful enough to impress Teriarch and still have a legacy in the current age when other species have been lost and forgotten since then. What could have destroyed them all?
  • As of Volume 8, confirmed. Elves, Fey, Gnomes, Dragons, and assorted allies fought and killed the gods over the creation of the Grand Design (AKA the leveling system). Some Elves betrayed their kin and fought on the gods' side. Resulted in complete destruction of at least one continent, creating the Last Tide, as well as extinction of Gnomes, Elves, and the retreat of the Fey. The Elven betrayal is the cause of the Fey's dislike of half-Elves.

The System will end up fighting against the Dead Gods
  • The Grand Design of Isthekenous (aka: the System) was created by the gods, and seems to have been intended to serve as an impartial arbiter of Skills and Levels. Recent Point of Views have shown that it is at least starting to develop thoughts and opinions of it's own though.
    • 9.32: The System expresses emotional interest in watching people level, and frustration about it's inability to properly level Erin from her time in the Deadlands. It then discovers the "OUTSIDER" tag that all Earthers have, asking "Who wrote that?" in red Rainbow Text.
    • Interlude - Spitoon: The System admits to "rooting for" leveling creatures in conflicts, and shows great interest in what Skills and new Class to assign Dakelos. It also has a small altercation with Kasinga where it attempts to take several souls of the recently dead from her in order to better facilitate a Skill that summons ghosts. She easily keeps them, but the very idea that the System would even try to go against her leaves her in several minutes of Stunned Silence.
