The Archangel, [[ReligiousHorror the Fear of religion]] is frequently believed to be the afterlife, but the Dying Man would, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin as the Fear of death]], at least make as much sense, if not moreso (especially as fear of death is probably a major factor in the evolution of religiosity). However, we know that the Archangel is the one most involved in the Grand Game, so he might have won the afterlife aspect, at least for now.

The afterlife is said to be [[AndIMustScream being a powerless passanger in the Archangel forever]], but the vctims of the Lost City instead (might) become Nightwalkers, so there is already precedence for Fears being able to inflict another afterlife. [[spoiler:Or at least in the end of ExcentricallyBored, Steward has come to believe something similar.]]

Slender represents the fear of unknown, which both HPLovecraft and StephenKing noted to be strongest of all kinds of fear.

* He certainly seems to have a dominant role in many Mythos stories. To some extent, this is a natural result of the Slender Man's status as CanonImmigrant and EnsembleDarkhorse: he has an established fanbase pulling for him. The same can be said for fellow immigrant, the Rake, albeit to a lesser extent.

It's so obvious, especially with the newest log! Both girls hate each other, want Jordan all to themselves, are dominant, and as of the newest log, batshit insane! They've both undergone horrible eldritch torture, too. [[spoiler:AND THEY WERE BOTH DEAD AT SOME POINT.]]
