This is the most likely explanation for how, as he mentioned himself, his entire family is blond while he has very dark hair. Hollywood Genetics aside, two blonds cannot produce brunet children biologically; dark hair is always dominant over lighter hair. The way he speaks of his family suggests he is at the very least Happily Adopted, and may in fact be the product of an Oblivious Adoption. This also makes him fit in well with the Ross family, where two of the three children that he attends camp with are also Happily Adopted.
