The BigBad of the game is ''the Devil Himself'', meaning the Broforce isn't just a team of badass mercenaries blowing shit up for the greater good : they are literally ''doing God's work''. And as the Hard Mode ending shows, [[spoiler: Jesus (and, by extension, God) are just as real as Satan in this setting]]. Fallen Bros respawning, either from freeing a captured prisoner or from an airdrop to the latest checkpoint following a mission failure, aren't just a standard videogame mechanic : [[spoiler: ''God Himself'' is bringing them back to life and allowing them to go back to the mortal realm so that they can continue their mission]].
