[[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Everyone's favorite plucky plumber]], Princess Peach, five Toads ([[ColorCodedCharacters Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, and Purple]]) and Toadsworth go on a vacation. When they arrive at scenic Isle Delfino, they find that the place has been polluted and plastered with graffiti. Additionally, the [[MacGuffin Shine Sprites]] that power the island have disappeared. The culprit is a guy who looks suspiciously like Mario. Everyone's favorite plumber is promptly arrested as he arrives, falsely accused of vandalizing the island.
