A Gaiden Game to the Suikoden series, launched for the PSP in 2012. Much like Suikoden Tierkreis, the story takes place in an alternative universe and features no returning characters.

Suikoden: Woven Web of the Centuries provides examples of:

  • Action Mom: Signey, the hero's mother who has passed away before the events of the game.
  • After the End: Unknown to most, the world outside the Yggdrasil barrier was completely destroyed by the Teras Pharma.
  • The Ageless: Thanks to the Original Era Tree, located behind the throne room, Emperor Leopherias XIII doesn't age. However, as a price, he can't be apart too far from it.
  • Aloof Archer: Luceri is a lonely and stoic archer.
  • Alternate Timeline: Due to the history-altering actions of the MC, there are a lot of them in The Woven Web of A Century. So the MC doesn't actually fix anything.
  • The Beastmaster: The Vermilion Axe members have a certain degree of control over the Teras Pharma and use them was weapons against the Ionia Empire.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: In the end, Aaron and his group were just puppets in the hands of the Yggdrasil Throne.
  • Bird People: The Feather Tribe.
  • Blue Is Heroic: The hero dresses in blue and his swordstyle is called Blue Flash Style.
  • Butterfly of Doom: It's probably not a good idea to move the location of the Era Tree as it lead to the death of everyone in the MC's village by monster attack, since that tree is the barrier against the monsters.
  • Can't Take Anything with You: Explicitly stated by Zefon. Applies both direction, and applies to people and things. Doesn't apply to learned Skills and knowledge. Otherwise the MC would simply drag his badass grandfather to fight monsters in the present.
    • However, this rule doesn't apply to gameplay mechanics (as you can open treasure chests in the past and take the contents with you) and is contradicted when you have to bring Crystalite (from the present) to Dagzuma (100 years ago), or when one of your ring-makers leave a ring in Neisa's workshop 200 years in the past.
  • Cassandra Truth: Conversed. The Starbearers can remember the events that were altered through time-travel, but decide to not tell others to avoid confusing them.
  • Character Class System: Every character has a fixed class (ex. swordsman, lancer, mage, etc.) and can only learn specific skills.
  • Combat Medic: The Herbalist class.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: The main character's father died when he was a child, and his mother was killed in battle before the events of the game.
  • Cosmic Horror Story: The real world is already destroyed by Teras Pharma, the world everyone knows is a small reserve inside a magical barrier. The Teras Pharma will eat absolutely anything until nothing but they remains, at which point they will eat each others forever orgiastically. Also, The Empire itself is the magical barrier, so the choice is between tolerating an Evil Empire or getting eaten by a Horde of Alien Locusts. Yeah.
    • Subverted, as it's latter revealed that the Teras Pharma has been extinct for many years and the world fully recovered from the damage.
  • Disc-One Nuke: The very first tech learned by the hero "Second Form — Wave" can one-shot most enemies early on.
  • Doomed Hometown: Telbe Village is destroyed by the Teras Pharma, and Gino is killed during the attack. This kickstarts the hero's journey to use the Era Trees to change the future.
  • The Emperor: Leopherias XIII, the current ruler of Ionia.
  • Evil All Along: Mayor Aaron and his secretary Rochelle turn out to be members of the Vermilion Axe.
  • Fartillery: There is a type of monster that can use fart-based attacks to paralyzes the party.
  • Four Is Death: Ducas' squad, the 4th branch, is slaughted by the Teras Pharma early on.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: It's stated that you can't take items from the past when you use time travel. In spite of that, any item obtained from treasure chests or monster drops are added to your inventory just fine.
  • Great Offscreen War: Right before the final battle, you learn about a war between two powerful nations and the Star of Destiny, which lead to the creation of the Teras Pharmas.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: The heroes from the past are only playable until you master their skills.
  • Heroic Lineage: The hero is a descendant of Torwald Albarek, the man who defeated the Teras Pharmas 100 years prior.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight:
  • La Résistance: Deconstructed. The Vermilion Axe is a resistance group that opposes the Ionia Empire, but they're violent terrorists who, in their hypocrisy, burn down towns and use monsters to fight the empire.
  • Lady of War: Astrid, Quinelia Lewis and Makia Zafir from the Ionia Empire.
  • Lizard Folk: The Scaled Horde are a race of heavy-armored lizardmen. Turn out they were created by humans to combat the Teras Pharma.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: Neos, a masked assassin from the Grubs who is also Lugam's bodyguard.
  • Master Swordswoman: Every female ancestor from the hero's family, including his mother. Also, Makia Zafir.
  • Mythology Gag: Much like Suikoden IV, the final boss is a giant tree; and much like Tierkreis, multiple parties fight it at the same time (except this time we see it happen).
  • Ninja: The Grubs, who are responsible for doing the dirty work for Ionia.
  • Non-Action Guy: Gino. Unlike the hero and Myura, he isn't a fighter and remains at the headquarters crafting magicite.
  • Non-Standard Skill Learning: The only way to learn new skills is by pairing two characters of the same class together (in a Student–Master Team) and using the "teach" command enough times.
  • One-Time Dungeon:
    • The House of Wisdom and the Tower of Zoe are dungeons that cannot be revisited upon completion.
    • The Floating Fortress is visited twice in the story, but becomes unavailable afterwards.
  • Optional Boss: The five hidden bosses that guard chests containing the best equipment.
  • Oracular Urchin: Zefon. He knows much more than he let on, and is a Jerkass by being so.
  • Plot Coupon: The Era Tree saplings.
  • Point-and-Click Map: Navigation in the world map and in towns are done by moving a cursor.
  • Point of No Return: The invasion of Yggdrasil Palace. The game warns you beforehand.
  • Pre Existing Encounters: For the first time in the series, enemies are visible on the map and can be avoided.
  • Pre-Final Boss: Makia Zafir is fought just before the final boss.
  • Sexy Secretary: Aaron's secretary, Rochelle.
  • Shout-Out: There is one equipment is named Pegasus Armor.
  • Take Your Time: Even before a big mission, you can sleep as many days as you want at the old fortress.
  • Time Travel: The premise of the game. The hero and his companions plant Era Trees and use them to time travel 100 years in the past and change history.
  • Time-Limit Boss: Luseri's optional hunts have time limits.
  • The Unfought: Aaron is Devoured by the Horde and Rochelle performs a Heroic Sacrifice to destroy the House of Wisdom.
  • The Wall Around the World: The story takes place inside a sheltered dome that protect those withing from the rampaging Teras Pharma outside.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Dirom Rantsess, killed by the Teras Pharma controlled by the Vermilion Axe, should have been revived when Lugat used the Era Tree to prevent the creation of the organization. However, he is never seen again.
  • When Trees Attack: The final boss is a fusion between the emperor and the Original Era Tree.
  • World Tree: The Original Era Tree, a giant magical tree responsible for empowering the magic barrier that repels the Teras Pharma.
