* TheBrute: The Gnome King is a [[LargeAndInCharge massive gnome]] who hits like a truck hitting you with another truck. Given that his attacks are very, very hard to dodge, the primary strategy for dealing with him is "manage your resources behind the door correctly, rage a lot and hope for the best".

The kingdom of Karryon, once a peaceful land, has been plagued by a dark influence, and now hordes of Gnomes from the near Whackapork forest are wreaking havoc in the capital. You play as Larry, the Chosen one, a short 19 years old knight with a bad temper, hired with the dangerous task of finding the Gnome King and find out what's the matter. All by slashing his way through hordes of gnomes and monsters ready to tear him apart.

* AwesomeYetImpractical: Some of the cooler-looking heavy weapons, like [[VideoGame/{{Warcraft 3}} Frostmourne]] for example. Smaller weapons deal less damage per hit, but their speed more than compensates for that, allowing a much better damage output in the end. Good luck getting a high enough damage output to kill the Gnome King with a heavy weapon.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: The Gnome King is also the FinalBoss.

** Arguably the Gnome Mage's intro can count as this: "Let's get this over with so I can be home for supper!" clearly shows that he's not making a big deal of the fight and fully expects to win easily. Of course, Larry does look tiny and nonthreatening...
* BerserkButton: Larry doesn't like being mistaken for a child.

* BossBanter: The Boar Rider will taunt you whenever you're hit. As a matter of fact, every boss who can speak (that means every boss save the Freak) taunts you. And so do {{Mooks}}.

* BullfightBoss:
** The Boar Rider is part this, part PuzzleBoss.
** The Freak is partially this -- it's essential to throw fruits at him to prevent him from corneting you, and jump over his charge when he uses it.

* DualWielding: Unfortunately you can't do it, and neither can gnomes, however the Freak dual-wields hatchets.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Just before reaching the Freak Boss, you're treated with a cutscene where Larry is hit by a fruit, which he eats, claiming that it makes him feeling better. Later, you can use the thrown fruit to feed the monster, distracting him.
** You can also eat the fruit to heal yourself. Though, due to the absurd power of the Freak's blows, it's best not to get hit by him at all.

* GiantMook: Larger gnomes, which are also {{Mighty Glacier}}s.

* GrimyWater: Justified, as the water is glowing green and possibly poisonous.

* HeroesPreferSwords: Larry's starting weapon is actually a dagger, though it looks like a short sword in the hands of someone as small as him.

* JavelinThrower: The Boar Rider. [[spoiler: You have to pick up said javelins and use them to stun him.]]

* LargeAndInCharge: The Gnome King in particular. All the other bosses are also noticeably bigger than the minions.

* MagicWand: Used to fire the aforementioned Magic Missiles.

* OlderThanHeLooks: Larry is 19 according to his words.

* PuzzleBoss: The Second and Third bosses requires some clever thinking.

* RushBoss: The purple Freak, which has the least number of health points of all bosses, but if he lands a hit, you're finished.

* SufferTheSlings: Larry's default ranged weapon, which is also sometimes wielded by gnomes.
* SquishyWizard: Gnome mages play it straight, but the Mage Boss averts it and has quite a lot of health.

* TooAwesomeToUse: Averted - if you treat Rage like this you'll be ''wasted''. Knowing when to use Rage properly is very important.
* TooDumbToLive: The King of Karryon. He also seems to have a rather poor grasp on sarcasm.

* YouHaveFailedMe: The Man of the Flames threatens to pull this on the Gnome King if he keeps failing. [[AvertedTrope He doesn't get to]], since Larry is the one who ends up killing the King.
