* ''Series/TheUmbrellaAcademy '': When Hazel and Cha-Cha attack the Academy, Grace doesn't so much as look up from her cross-stitch. This is actually a clue that something's wrong with her; the siblings later discover [[spoiler:Hargreeves altered her programming so she wouldn't interrupt his suicide, and apparently wasn't too careful, if her sewing through her own arm is any indication.]]

* ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'': In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6nczQNvw5E "Dream Home Extreme"]], Creator/EmmaStone plays a woman named Lita who wins the titular home makeover show's two million dollar top prize. She's pleasantly surprised to win...and that's about the extent of her happiness, much to host Cheryl's (Kristin Wiig's) frustration. Cheryl repeatedly tries to get Lita excited about the renovation--especially because they have to be on the air for five solid minutes--but she doesn't respond to any of the details with anything more than DullSurprise and seems more interested in the [[TheSnackIsMoreInteresting potato chips]] she's munching on. The sketch ends with Lita's neighbor dropping by to share some hard-boiled eggs his wife made; naturally, ''that's'' what makes Lita [[MundaneMadeAwesome scream and cry with delight.]]

** Wren, after seeing Ben inexplicably came back from the dead, just comments how you can't keep him down after expressing extremely mild surprise.
** After people learn Ben is undead, it's briefly a story on the news, he's tested and then sent back to school with nothing more than being called a zombie regularly afterward.

* In ''Series/Hawkeye2021'' everyone ignores that Clint and Kate are having bows in public. Of course, considering who Clint is, people will be more focused in the sight of an Avenger than the fact that Hawkeye is wearing his usual weapon around.

* In one season one episode of ''Series/AgentsOfSHIELD'', Coulson and Skye drive out of a jet in a flying car and land in front of a convention center in the middle of Los Angeles. The only person to pay any attention is the parking attendant, who charges them for the use of the space they landed in. Of course, considering this show started right after Film/TheAvengers2012, most people in-universe will likely think that a flying car is another Tony Stark's invention, especially given that Howard Stark, Tony's father, already tried to make one in the fourties.

* ''Franchise/KamenRider'': Anything not directly life threatening is summarily ignored. It's actually more notable when someone ''does'' notice.
** ''Series/KamenRiderExAid'': The crowd watching the public health announcement revealing the existence of [[TheVirus Game Disease]] seems to be reasonable unsettled by the danger of a lethal, contagnious pathogen, but there is a significant lack of any apparent FlatWhat reaction to the symptoms, which involve video game characters spawning from the infected. This applies to any patients brought to CR even before that point, but they are preoccupied with dying, so the exact hows and why are not entirely important to them.
** ''Series/KamenRiderSaber'': [[FishOutOfTemporalWater Yuri]] pulls an InstantCostumeChange in middle of a crowded place and gets about as many odd looks as when he claims to be a [[EquippableAlly sword]] multiple times - that is noone outside of [[TheHero Touma]] and [[GenkiGirl Mei]].
*** The [[BadassCrew swordsmen]]'s attempts to track down [[AnnoyingYoungerSibling Ren]] / Kamen Rider Kenzan later into the story are completely futile even when they go around asking whether has anyone seen a [[BrattyHalfPint young]], sword carrying dude in an AwesomeAnachronisticApparel.

"nonplussed" means "surprised and confused and I-don't-know-how-to-react-to-this". Americans seem to have developed the idea that it means the opposite.

* In the UK children's show ''Series/{{Brum}}'', the citizens of Birmingham- sorry, ''the Big Town'' seem rather nonplussed that there's a small, talking/anthropomorphic, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking yellow]] car driving merrily around. However it could be argued that they're all just used to the sight, as Brum is often recognised and known by name to them.
