Tropers: Trkzsoup
An unabashedly geeky female troper. Despite still being a twenty-nothing, feels increasingly old when she complains about how much Saturday morning cartoons suck now, and what life was like before seven-year-olds had cell phones. If it wasn't for a love of fast cars and classic rock, never mind decent technology skills, most people would probably believe she was an old person body-swapped into a young person.

She has lurked and contributed on many websites for many years. Mostly, she spends her days writing fanfiction, surfing the interwebs and reading anything she can get her hands on (short of Twilight—don't get her started on Twilight).

  • Annoying Laugh
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!
  • Bag of Holding: Prefer larger purses for this exact reason. One would be surprised how often that wrench comes in handy.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Besides being this way from time to time, this troper also prefers her men to be nice with a dark undercurrent.
  • Bi the Way: With pretty much everyone she knows. Most had already figured it out already, anyway.
  • Big Brother Complex: Or rather, Big Sister Complex. Trkzsoup and her younger brother fight from time to time, but she would do anything for him, including nearly beating the crap out of an old friend because he threatened said younger brother.
  • Big "NO!": Quite frequently, usually when losing at Mario Kart Wii or when her roommate has done something inconvenient and mundane, a.k.a. dropping an unopened can of pop on the floor.
  • Bookworm
  • Cloudcuckoolander
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Mario Kart. That is all.
  • Comeback Tomorrow: All the time. She may not be quick on her feet, but this troper can think of some decent comebacks given time. This is probably why she prefers writing, as well.
  • Contemplating Your Hands
  • Crazy-Prepared
  • Dead Baby Comedy: Usually followed with a "...we're all going to hell."
  • Deadpan Snarker: The troper and pretty much everyone she knows, to varying degrees. Sarcasm Mode is the default mode.
  • Fag Hag: Apparently became one when she didn't notice. When the majority of your friends are gay/bi, and so are you, it's inevitable.
  • Forgets To Eat: Usually thanks to work, class or getting engrossed in some form of media.
  • Generation Xerox: Trkzsoup and her brother are often told they look like one of their parents at a younger age. Gender makes no difference.
  • Genre Savvy: Once a troper, always a troper. It has often ruined surprises in movies, books and television shows, but there's no other way to be.
  • Grammar Nazi
  • Hard Work Hardly Works: The general idea throughout high school and now college. More studying does not equal higher grades for this troper.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Trkzsoup's father often jokes that she won't be friends with any guy under 6', to counterbalance her petite 5'3". To this day, there have only been a few exceptions, one of whom she's happily dating right now. He's 5'5"; actually being at his eye level was quite the jarring experience at first.
  • Humanity Is Insane: Worked retail, even during the holiday seasons. Faith in humanity's sanity (that rhymed!) disappeared on her first Black Friday, a long time ago.
  • I Call It Vera: A black ceremonial-style dagger named Eleanor, a long-gone '97 Hyundai Elantra named Droopy (after the character dog, because they were both pathetically adorable) and an '03 PT Cruiser named Petey.
  • I Just Write The Thing
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Uttered with unsurprising frequency during finals weeks and while working on large projects/papers. When liquor isn't available, Mountain Dew is a decent substitute.
  • Inner Monologue
  • I Thought Everyone Could Do That: Reading Roman numerals and picking things up with your feet. On a less confirmed basis, seeing thousands of tiny floating points of light flying around.
  • Knife Nut: Owns at least a dozen knives, three of which are stashed strategically around her dorm room. One is hidden in her car, along with a machete; another hides in her purse. The rest remain back at home. Never know what sort of situation might arise...
  • Knight in Sour Armor
  • Large Ham
  • Mad Scientist: Several of Trkzsoup's friends, and to a lesser extent, the troper herself. Being artistic and scientifically inclined manifests in odd ways when boredom kicks in. It's also how large chunks of the backyard end up missing.
  • Multicolored Hair: Light brunette/dark blonde hair, with natural blonde, brunette and black highlights.
  • Must Have Caffeine
  • Nay Theist: Of the 'believe in all gods, but don't worship any of them specifically' variety.
  • Nerdgasm: So often that it's become commonplace to her friends. Finding a classic Power Rangers action figure at the local Goodwill, seeing the trailer for the latest nerdy movie, the new issue of a comic book coming out... There's no stopping it.
  • Nerd Glasses
  • Nerds Are Sexy: The best kind of boys, basically. Trkzsoup's current boyfriend runs a tabletop RPG campaign for our university's gaming group, goes to conventions (most recently in full Green Arrow gear), loves to read, favors Star Trek over Star Wars (but loves them both), plays World of Warcraft and has a Torchwood sticker on the bumper of his car, just to name a few things.
  • No Indoor Voice: Mostly after a few drinks, or when trying to speak over her increasingly loud friends in a vicious circle of loudness.
  • No Sense of Personal Space
  • Noodle Incident: That one time, with the potato, accelerant, blue plastic tub, pooper-scooper and lotto tickets... We don't talk about that anymore.
  • Nothing Exciting Ever Happens Here: Trkzsoup's hometown, seeing as it's a farm town with barely 1000 people. Fortunately, 'creative' friends managed to make the years spent there much more interesting. This includes the aforementioned Noodle Incident, fun with dry ice, practicing jumping into moving cars, building a homemade still (which is legal in our home state) and attempting to build a Tesla coil.
  • Old Shame: Several fanfics from my earliest days of writing have quickly fallen into this category.
  • One of the Boys
  • Oral Fixation Fixation
  • Orphaned Punchline: Too many times to count.
  • Outdated Outfit: With a personal leaning toward 1940s/1950s fashion.
  • Pardon My Klingon: Done with British English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese Italian, Klingon, Sindarin, and gorram(it), rutting, smeg and frak often.
  • Perfectly Cromulent Word
  • Proud to Be a Geek
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Somehow falls into groups of friends like this no matter where she goes. It makes life interesting, at least.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Routinely gets away with saying absolutely awful/ridiculous things because they're so amazingly awful/ridiculous (and occasionally sort of clever).
  • Refuge in Vulgarity
  • Ridiculous Procrastinator
  • Sarcasm Mode: All the time. People often have to ask if she's being sarcastic or serious.
  • Self-Deprecation
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: 5'3", with a particular affinity for shotguns.
  • Survival Mantra: "Never give up, never surrender!"
  • Talking To Herself
  • The Power of Rock: Invoked frequently to either boost an already good mood, or put her in a good mood.
  • The Tetris Effect: Once, after many weeks of playing Pokemon Yellow (during the height of the Pokemon craze), Trkzsoup was at the mall with her mother and thought they weren't moving quickly enough. She immediately thought to jump on her bike to go faster, before reprimanding herself because you can't ride bikes indoors. Then it occurred to her that this was reality, and there was no Select button to hit that would magically place her on a bicycle.
  • Thinking Out Loud
  • Tranquil Fury: Once in a blue moon, something really, truly pisses her off and she goes from being sarcastic and loud to completely silent.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment
