This page will be used as a Tropes List for games I'm in instead. If you're reading this, I probably bugged you to. Sorry, but hopefully you'll find my choices entertaining!
Air Pirates, ran by Tacky
Premise
As explained by Tacky himself, Air Pirates is an Exalted game about trying to steal a powerful ship from the very hands of the Dynasts. Then? Adventure, plunder, booty, character development! It can be found here. However, so far, our ... heroes have just met, talked to one another, been led to a manse with EXPLODING BIRDS, met with an Abyssal who asked them to get his tortured Lunar Mate back and boarded a Cool Ship. The team was split in two (Edhal and Trian on the ship, Bells, Espinova and Silveria on the ground) in order to find the Chimera.
The Air Team found and fought the Chimera, and almost lost... before Edhal kissed the Chimera on the mouth, which made her fade away. Somehow. As they went to sleep that day, Trian was visited by the Fair Folk who stole her voice in her dreams, and told that Espinova is a Fair Folk, and that he would give Trian her voice back if she was taken to him. Trian agreed. Meanwhile, Edhal was "kidnapped" by the Chimera, swore an oath to protect her and keep her safe, and then... had sex with her.
The Ground Team found Dalla, a mortal girl who witnessed the gory murder of her parents at the hands of the Chimera. The group took her with them, and were then arrested by some Delzahn guys, and taken to their leader, who turned out to be Ulito Swan. They had a discussion, and then : Silveria had sex with her and promised to help her, Bells found a girl, Ania, slept with her and married her at her request, and Espinova... slept alone.
Then, both groups reunited and are now on their way to Chiaroscuro again. Perhaps after all this sex, they will, maybe, steal the damned ship.
General Tropes
Those tropes apply to the game in general, not to a character in particular.- Bad Ass : Every single one of the members of the party. It's Exalted, what did you expect?
- Some People Are Bi : Silveria is bisexual, Edhal is bisexual, and, as a Fair Folk, maybe Espinova is too. The rest are straight... for now.
- Never Split the Party : Splitting the party to fight off a Chimera might not have been the best of ideas...
- Tacky : "You know that... don't split the party? This applies! Especially when I balance out the encounters for the entire party."
- Five-Man Band :
- The Hero : Edhal.
- The Lancer : Trian.
- The Big Guy : Blazing Bells.
- The Smart Guy : Espinova.
- The Chick : Silveria.
- Named Weapons : Standard in Exalted. Edhal has Cloudfall, Trian has got the Crimson Bow, Blazing Bells the Sea Master, Silveria the Silver Arc, and Espinova
the Typhon WheelGiggles. - Ragtag Bunch of Misfits : Seriously. Just read the descriptions below.
- Talk Like a Pirate : Subverted: While they are technically Air Pirates, only Bells and Edhal are real pirates; neither of them speak like them, though Blazing Bells sometimes slips.
Character Tropes
Edhal Gavand
Edhal Gavand, Solar Eclipse played by Lucus Casius, is the captain of the ship called the Stormwind, which is a huge, Resources 4 airship. He is a pirate, and his Motivation is to create a fleet to attack the Realm.- A Father to His Men : As explained in his personality.
- The Captain : In addition to being The Hero.
- Cool Ship : The Stormwind.
- Gentleman Adventurer : Edhal Gavand, GENTLEMAN ADVENTURER!
- Lover, Not a Fighter : Edhal defeats the Chimera by kissing her. Later, he gives her a hug...and takes a level of lethal damage because she was covered in acid.
- Only Sane Man : Perhaps "Only Not Crazy Person" would be more appropriate.
- Pirate : Type 2.
- Sky Pirate : OF COURSE!
Trian, aka "Hush"
Trian/Hush, Solar Zenith played by Reynard, is a very proficient archer and used to be an excellent singer... before a Fair Folk stole her voice, that is. Her Motivation is to get it back at any cost, in order to spread the word of the Unconquered Sun further.- Action Girl : She will sniper shot you from a thousand miles away and not give a damn.
- But Now I Must Go : In her backstory.
- Cute Mute : It is strongly advised, however, that you do not call her that.
- Deal with the Devil : Trian made a deal with the Fair Folk that stole her voice : she can get it back, and in exchange, she gives him Espinova.
- Improbable Aiming Skills : She has a 3-dot specialty in Precise Shots, and she's already Archery 5. Specific example : shooting through the rings on Bells' sword, while having -4 successes because she was showing off, nailing Bells and the sword on a tree behind. Even Bells thought it was pretty cool.
- Power Gives You Wings : Literally; her Totemic Anima level gives her a set of huge wings.
- Tomboy : Up to a certain extent, but she shows some of the traits.
- Trick Arrow / The Archer : It's Archery in Exalted, what did you expect?
- *Twang* Hello : Done on Bells, but it's probably not the last time.
- The Voiceless : As mentionned, a Fair Folk stole her voice. She is not happy about that.
Blazing Bells
Blazing Bells, Fire Aspect Outcaste played by Sky Bound Fencer, is a crazy pirate who goes around not giving a damn about anything, being generally outright unpleasant, crazy and/or doing something stupid. His motivation is to make it so all Outcastes get a treatment equal to the Dynasts. Really hates Dynasts.- Anti-Hero : Bells is not a good guy. At all. And yet, he's not really evil either.
- Anti-Heroic BSOD : After finding out that the party is made of Celestial Exalted, which are far more powerful than Dragon-Blooded... normally. He gets better.
- Ax-Crazy : Not quite, but just you wait till he Limit Breaks.
- Berserk Button : Do not, I repeat, DO NOT call him a Dynast to his face.
- BFS : Perhaps it's even a little too big...
- Butt-Monkey : Well, he is the butt of every joke OOC, at least. It manifests a little less IG, but is still present.
- Clothing Damage : Bells has received it twice in the course of 11 pages; once from being attacked by a Spell, once because Trian ripped the pants off him. ...To get a better look at his wounds, of course!
- Expy : Of Gan Ning from Dynasty Warriors. Only taken up to eleven.
- Hello, my name is Blazing Bells, you killed my parents, Prepare to Die.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold / Jerkass Façade : Bells is not as evil as he thinks he is. But don't tell him that.
- Large Ham : "I AM A FIRE ASPECT OUTCASTE! THIS GIVES ME THE RIGHT TO BE A LARGE HAM ALL THE TIME!!!"
- Mood-Swinger : Oh yeah.
- Pirate : Type 1, to a certain extent: he's only partially evil. He wouldn't hurt a child, for instance.
- Rape, Pillage, and Burn : In his backstory.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist : Trying to get all Outcaste Dragon-Blooded to be treated better? Wow, how generous of him! Too bad he tries to do so by killing every Dynast he comes across.
Espinova, the Pearl Naysmith
Espinova, Diplomatic Heroic Commoner played by Ganurath, is a Fair Folk in disguise. As such, she is prone to breaking the fourth wall and/or being Genre Savvy. Her Motivation is to exemplify the lifestyle of the Laughing Monster.- Break the Fourth Wall / Fourth-Wall Observer
- Cute Monster Girl and Moe, the latter admitted by Ganurath himself.
- Exotic Weapon Supremacy / Fuuma Shuriken : Espinova wields a wheel made of miniature daiklaives. And she's really good at it.
- The Fair Folk , but, surprisingly, of the non-evil variety.
- Genre Savvy
- Horny Devils : While not a succubus, Espinova uses Banquet of Crumbs, which allows her to regain Essence from ambient emotions. Now think about what would be the best way to generate intense emotions. The possibility has only been discussed so far, however.
- Oh, Crap! : After being told that they were about to meet somebody who "knew what everyone was" : "[...]Espinova did nothing on the outside. Inside, she heartily panicked."
- The Reveal : Ulimo Swan directly reveals that she is a Fair Folk. Silveria already guessed, and Bells didn't care much. Espinova herself then reveals her identity to Trian and Edhal.
- Troll : Part of the package of the Fair Folk. Specifically, she screws with the minds of a random guard and Trian.
Silveria Arc (formerly Cathak Mina)
Silveria Arc, Lunar Changing Moon played by Myllinnia, is a sexy, southern Lunar with a mischevious attitude. She serves as the Social Combat character for this game, but also (somewhat) as a Team Mom. As a Lunar, she gets Animal Motifs (her Tell is "the sound of scales rubbing against the ground as she walks, the feel of scales when touching/brushing against her bare skin") and Voluntary Shapeshifting by default. Her Motivation to take and rule the Realm, because she thinks it'll do better than a few 1000 River Streams Project.- Hot Chick with a Sword : She's hot, and she fights with a sword.
- Miss Fanservice : It's not all that she does, but...she walks around with a bra, a skirt, and a sword. Nothing else. Also, she's bisexual.
- Parental Substitute : To Dalla. This leads to a good quantity of heart-warming moments.
- Rousing Speech of the Dare to Be Badass variety : She used one on Bells so he would stop moping. It worked.
- Smug Snake : You'd think she would be, what with her having a Black Giant Anaconda as a Spirit Shape, right? WRONG. She's actually really nice and is expressively described as being "not cruel and mean."
- Sunny Sunflower Disposition : She's the cheeriest character in the party, by far.
- Team Mom : She has managed to motivate Blazing Bells not once, but twice, and generally acts like this.
- Not to mention one of her goals seem to be trying to have Edhal and Trian make up with one another. Good luck.
- This Is Unforgivable! : "This... is unforgivable of you. Seriously unforgivable. You honestly do not at all know who you are dealing with and you.... have made her cry." However, this does not lead to an epic asskicking.
Light of Divinity, run by Drake Raids
Premise
Light of Divinity is a newbie Exalted game. The characters are given a map by a strange, old crone, and being told that "the power they seek" was awaiting there. And so, the intrepid heroes find themselves entering the ruins of a broken Manse... It may be found here.
General Tropes
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot & Master Computer : Sunlight Pierces Shadow, the Manse, who apparently hasn't gotten any maintenance since the First Age.
- Battle Couple : Esen and Mina, Flash and Stalks.
- Laughing Mad : Sunlight Pierces Shadow again, which makes him something of a Giggling Villain.
- Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl : Esen(Savvy) & Mina (Energetic), Flash(Energetic) & Stalks(Savvy).
- Star-Crossed Lovers : Esen and Mina. Damn it, Drake.
Character Tropes
Esen, Fire in Faith
Esen, Solar Zenith played by Lucus Casius, was a priest of Anora until he Exalted and was promptly abandonned by her. He now seeks to find a greater use for his Exaltation and basically serves as a wandering priest. He is bonded to Mina. His Motivation is halt and prevent all unnecessary conflict taking place in Creation.- Allergic to Love : I guess that attitude would be expected when all your ex-girlfriends (metaphorically) backstabbed you when they didn't need you anymore... Good thing Mina is here to fix him.
- Badass Preacher / Heartbroken Badass : He's gonna kick ass and hug Mina, and Mina isn't here right now.
- Knight in Sour Armor : Pretty much personified.
- Love at First Note : The first hint we get that Esen might be feeling love for Mina was when she started singing for him.
- Love Makes You Crazy : It has been discussed that Esen is likely to switch to full-on Knight Templar mode if Mina was ever to betray him. This is not facilitated by the fact that there are at least TWO PEOPLE in the group who hit on Mina constantly...
- Reincarnation Romance : With Mina.
- The First Cut Is the Deepest, and it's up to Mina to fix him.
- Troubled, but Cute : He's Appearance 5 but he has some... issues.
Honored Pheonix
Honored Pheonix, Solar Eclipse played by Duke God, is a warrior who is always accompanied by his trusty Simhata, Tempest. His Motivation is to restore the Solars to their former glory.- Big, Badass Wolf : Tempest (of course).
- Civilized Animal : Tempest, who is incredibly well-behaved for a Simhata.
Bloody Rowan
Bloody Rowan, Solar Dawn played by Ringwyrm. Her Motivation is to build a nation where Wyld Mutants may live free.Mina, the Lovely Songbird (formerly Cathak Mina)
Cathak Mina (nicknamed "The Lovely Songbird"), Changing Moon Lunar played by Sky Bound Fencer, is a happy-go-lucky girl who travels around the world, using her skill with singing in order to make people's lives better. She is mated to Esen. Her Motivation is to unite all of the people of Creation under one banner.- Break the Cutie : In her backstory, where she's put through hell because she cannot hold up to her parents' standards and then exiled from her home after being purposefully sent out to lead an army in a battle she could not possibly win. However, Mina simply refuses to break, no matter what, which makes her into...
Vesri, the Second Chance
Invisible Flash of Gold
- Chivalrous Pervert : This is Flash's defining character trait, though he shows the "Pervert" side more often, to the dismay of Esen, Mina and Vesri.
- Moment Killer : He interrupts Mina and Esen in the middle of their first kiss, then prompty proceeds to hit on Mina.
