I'm certainly not on TVTropes every day, it hasn't altered the way I look at works of fiction, and I truly derive no pleasure from being here, nor linking everything I type to some other page on this wiki.
Yes, my codename is a reference to the comic book.
Perfect. Now that we've got the uncomfortable admissions out of the way, let's proceed with the ostentatious self-description.
Simply put, I am a (somewhat) newly-minted journalism graduate with some oddish habits: namely, living in California, flying airplanes and writing short Science Fiction. I am slightly interested in comic books and manga. I adore action movies, particularly those with a Sci-Fi bent. Firearms, airplanes, dinosaurs, mythology, World War II, history, biology, travel, and adventure occupy a good two-thirds of my brainpower (the rest being given over to food, sleep, and ...other earthly delights). So I decided to combine all the things that interest me into a science fiction novel series, and strike out as an erstwhile writer (supplementing my income with aviation and travel journalism). My favorite pastime would be the perusal of books, those old-fashioned antiques which are made of paper and smell vaguely of glue and ink. Anything by HG Wells, Jules Verne, or the Big Three (Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke, or Robert Heinlein) is worth my time. I also enjoy nonfiction travel writing and the occasional poem, and my musical tastes roughly span the middle 18th century to about five minutes ago.
I'd love to be all professional and cool and upload a picture and perform some rad formatting on this page, but I haven't the energy nor the expertise. What you see is what you get. Questions and comments are welcome and invited, and please don't hesitate to call me out on any factual errors in the posts I've edited. Being the obsessive-compulsive stickler that I am, however, you probably won't see any. Just sayin'.
