- Interviewer: So we know you're an artist, what else do you do with your time?
- Jaysef: Ever heard of a site called TV Tropes?
- Int: Oh no, you too?
- Jay: 'Fraid so.
- Int: How did you find the site?
- Jay: I forget. I know it was shortly before the famous xkcd strip, but for the life of me I can't remember how I was linked. Sluggy Freelance maybe? Or possibly Multiplex. I do remember information binging on tropes for days, particularly in my very last college class I had to take over the summer before graduating. I'm not sure how I passed that one. Reading about Tropes is like watching the birth of an internet meme, which also fascinates me.
- Int: Does this mean you're a 4channer as well?
- Jay: Not so much these days. The community isn't the same, and the novelty has worn off.
- Int: Back on TV Tropes: are you a just a reader or a contributor as well?
- Jay: Contributor.
- Int: Done anything significant? Made any famous tropes?
- Jay: Ha ha, not really. My major entries are over the cult classics and sleepers I enjoy, so they're kind of "anti-famous" if you will. For instance I wrote the entire entry (unless someone has added something else) for Space Station Silicon Valley. Great game, but not incredibly well known, especially since the N64 is now two generations behind. I also did quite a bit of work on TRON one afternoon, simply because its one of my favorite films. Otherwise I usually just add what I can as I read.
- Int: Do you have a favorite Trope?
- Jay: Actually yes. Hilarious in Hindsight. Best read I've had on the site yet.
- Int: Well thanks for your time, we'll be looking forward to your future contributions.
