I'm here mainly because I'm interested in the tropes associated with genre science fiction and fantasy, and to a lesser extent historical fiction. I have only limited interest in film and none in anime; some in games and western animation.
I'm a topic expert on science fiction, with pretty wide knowledge of mythology and comparative religion as well. My first contribution was to the Mad Scientist trope, explaining that it's essentially a life portrait of Nikola Tesla. My second was to Gods Need Prayer Badly, explaining that this is in fact a common trope in real-world polytheisms. These are representative of the sorts of things you can expect me to know about.

I'm also a very experienced martial artist, something I expect will eventually apply to trope analysis but hasn't yet.
