O hai, TVTropes! I'm a nerdy college freshman from a no-name town in lonely little New Hampshire. I'm better at math than I am at talking to people, but text chat is an exception. I used to play Kingdom of Loathing (under the same name as here, look it up if you're so inclined), but I haven't logged in there in the longest time. I'll pick it back up eventually. Recently, I've been playing a whole lot of Team Fortress 2 (on the PC, also under the same name, look for me on IOGaming or RailBait servers) and Audiosurf. I've also been playing a free-to-play MMORPG named LaTale (again under the same name), but I'm prone to taking long breaks from it. At the time of this writing, I think it's been about a month and a half. I should really get back on that.

In my spare time (by which I mean when I'm not playing games or in class), I do a whole lot of things. The most common among those is hanging out with Eneljie and a bunch of other guys to watch anime. We also have a slight tendency to play D&D, through which I have found that I'm not that great at role-play. (I never know what to do. I've earned myself the nickname of "The Indecisive Ranger".) I also run quite a lot, but only on occasion from the police. Other, much more minor activities include writing music (Alas, I cannot play any instruments), reading books (fantasy especially), and eating bacon.

When I'm not hanging out as part of my Five-Man Band, I tend to be The Quiet One. When I am in said band, I am (at least according to everyone else) The Smart Guy. I often give a Mathematician's Answer, and always get a sore shoulder (or whichever body part is closest to the asker of the question) for it. I'm sometimes Brilliant, but Lazy, but more often I'm just a Ridiculous Procrastinator. However, under no circumstances am I a morning person.

I like me some music. Some of my favorite sorts include:

• Techno. Specifically, I enjoy (read: reallyreallylike) BT. I also like things from Alstroemeria Records, Sound Online, and ALiCE'S EMOTiON, a trio of Touhou arrangement groups.
• Nerdcore. Really just MC Frontalot and a slight bit of YTCracker. It's the only rap I'll listen to.
• Rock in general. Except, that's too general, so I'll be more specific.
  • Rush - Probably my favorite band ever. I like pretty much anything involving synths, and I have a love for awkward time signatures that I can't even explain, so they pretty much fit the bill perfectly.
  • They Might Be Giants - I like to think of them when English teachers insist that Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory. That and every single one of their songs is so amazingly catchy.
  • Rise Against - I absolutely love the punk style, and what goes better with it than complaining about how much humanity sucks? Nothing!
  • Skillet - Gotta love some metal.
• Video game music in general. Also Metroid Metal. Especially Metroid Metal.

I also like me some video games. Those include:

• Chrono Trigger. This game is pretty much everything I could ever want in a turn-based RPG. Which is to say, a really fun battle system, likable characters, amazing music, and a thoroughly convoluted storyline.
• The Metroid series, but very especially Super Metroid, which I've given on several occasions as my favorite game ever. It's absolutely amazing, and if you haven't played it already, go play it now. RIGHT NOW.
• Anything by Valve. 'nuff said.
• The Mario & Luigi series. JRPG with many lols inserted.
• The Tales series. I like JRPGs as it is, so that's points in its favor right there. The battle system is extraordinarily similar to Super Smash Bros., so it makes grinding fun. The storylines are deep and immersive, the art is beautiful, the music is wonderful... I could go on and on and on but I won't. Another must-play series. Like Metroid!

I could go into a whole lot more detail about how the music in video games is one of the most important aspects of the whole experience, but I think I'll let my blog do the talking there. No need to type it all twice.

I also like me some anime. My three favorite series (so far) are Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Angel Beats!, and CLANNAD. I also have enjoyed Azumanga Daioh, Cowboy Bebop, Birdy the Mighty, Haruhi Suzumiya, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and K-On!. There are others, but these are the ones that stick out the most.
