• Channel Hop: Was one of the final major releases from The Weinstein Company. After Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault scandal broke, the producers took the film's home distribution rights to Lionsgate and deleted all references to its original distributor from the film, with Taylor Sheridan demanding all the money that would have gone to Weinstein be donated to charity instead. However, the Weinstein Company's logo and "TWC" do still appear as a Vanity Plate on the streaming version of the film.
• Dueling Movies: With The Snowman (2017). Wind River ended up much more critically acclaimed, and though both films grossed around the same, The Snowman cost significantly more to produce.
• Fake Nationality: The fully Native American character of Natalie is played by the mixed-race actress Kelsey Asbile, who claims to have Eastern Band Cherokee ancestry on her mother's side. However, that tribe does not recognize her as a member because membership requires descent from ancestors who were formally enrolled in the tribe's records. Just having blood descent isn't enough. This was in fact the first film where Asbile went by that name instead of her birth name, Kelsey Chow. She's since appeared in several roles as Native Americans.
• Those Two Actors: Once again, Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch team up. And to further connect this to the MCU, they also investigate The Punisher's death.
