• Executive Meddling: After a disastrous screening of the workprint at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival (which according to director Stephan Elliott, was almost three hours and had been edited for three weeks up to that point), distributor MGM took over the editing and released it over a year later to little fanfare. Elliott has said he'd be interested in making a director's cut once MGM's rights lapse.
