** Ruby and Weiss would get together in the end. Most readers had a reaction of "FINALLY!" when it happened.
** Similarly, everyone called [[Anime/CodeGeass Euphemia]] as one of Jaune's sisters.

* OlderThanTheyThink: Weiss Reacts was actually inspired by an earlier fanfic called 'Dear Fanfiction', a fact the author acknowledges.
** MorePopularSpinoff / WeirdAlEffect: Nowadays Weiss Reacts is far more well-known to the point that some people consider the earlier fanfic a rehash of Weiss Reacts. It does not help that the latter fanfic updates far more often.
** Likewise, the shark plushie gag. The gag originates from an older fanfic of the author, where it was used in a much more TearJerker context, and that originated even earlier, from the 'Great Weiss Shark' meme. Nowadays, most readers unaware of either the older fanfic or the meme assume Weiss Reacts created the gag.

** And apparently, the Cockerel Festival was not meant to be started until chapter fifty, being started due to a very [[AuthorExistenceFailure tragic]] happening with RWBY. The author pushed it up as his tribute instead. From what is known, Ren wasn't intended to make it past the first round and Norn was intended to fight Weiss instead.

** Another RWBY fanfiction, ''FanFic/{{Emergence}}'', did this to ''Weiss Reacts'' by directing people to it from the Spacebattles forums it was hosted on.

* OneOfUs: Elf loves Wiki/TVTropes, to the point that he outright sources the gods of the Reactsverse from the [[Pantheon/TropePantheons pantheons]].

* OneOfUs: Elf loves TvTropes, to the point that he outright sources the gods of the Reactsverse from the [[Pantheon/TropePantheons pantheons]].

** He has also mentioned that he likes writing the character of [[NiceGuy Pyrrha]].

* AuthorAppeal: Persona, Fate stay/night and Chobits are all favourite franchises of the author as can be gleaned from his profile. Guess which ones show up in Weiss Reacts.
