Trivia / Transformers: Generation One

Go To

  • In Memoriam: The third issue of the War and Peace miniseries was dedicated to Robert Stack, who voiced Ultra Magnus in The Transformers: The Movie and passed away a month before the issue was published.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: IDW would do reprints of some of the Dreamwave's Transformers but all have been out of circulation for years and none are available on Comixology. In some other countries, some Dreamwave stories got reprinted, but even the collections that aim to be as complete as possible left out some stories due to remaining legal issues.
  • Missing Episode:
    • Like all the other Dreamwave Transformers comic series, the company's closure left a lot of solicited issues unpublished or unfinished. This includes Issues 11 to 14, the 2004 Datatracks Annual, and a storyline called "Rules of Extinction" that was referenced in Issue 8. While they had the license IDW Publishing owned the scripts and artwork for these issues but refused to complete and print them since there's a very good chance the writers and artists weren't paid for their work(The same is likely true of current license holder Skybound). The creators of said stories also expressed no desire to finish their Dreamwave-era stories, for the same reasons.
    • While IDW Publishing has reprinted the trade paperbacks of the Prime Directive and War and Peace miniseries as well as publishing an omnibus collection of the first two War Within miniseries, they have yet to reprint the Micromasters miniseries, the three existing issues of the prematurely cancelled The War Within: The Age of Wrath miniseries, the "Welcome to the Jungle" story featured in the 20th Anniversary Summer Special and the entirety of the ongoing that lasted 10 issues.
  • What Could Have Been: The Megatron: Origins miniseries from IDW was originally conceived as a prequel set in Dreamwave's continuity but the company's bankruptcy meant it would get later fitted into IDW's continuity.
  • Word of Gay: Sunstreaker, confirmed by Matt Moylan.
