Trivia / The Wyatt Family

Go To

  • Aborted Arc: The Wyatts were supposed to feud with and disband the League of Nations, and outright attacked them after they kicked out Wade Barrett, but the feud was canceled once Bray suffered an injury. WWE ultimately went through with disbanding the League, just without their involvement.
  • Breakup Breakout: Throughout their WWE tenure, Erick Rowan is the only one who didn't win a singles title. Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman were the only onesnote  to win World Titles, with Wyatt winning it three times while Strowman winning it once. Strowman is technically also a Triple Crown Championnote , a (Greatest) Royal Rumble and (2018) Money in the Bank winner. The late Luke Harper was a 1x Intercontinental Champion (and a 1x AEW TNT Champion following his departure).
  • Follow the Leader: The family's popularity led quickly to the creation of similar cult-themed stables in other promotions, most notably The Great Sasuke and his Mu no Taiyo faction in Michinoku Pro Wrestling.
  • The Pete Best:
    • Eli Cottonwood, Bray's first lackey/convert, who was only around for a few shows in FCW. Cottonwood was almost like a prototype of Harper, right down to wearing jeans and a wifebeater and having long dark brown hair and a matching beard. He was much cleaner-cut than Harper, though. (Then again, Bray himself didn't have nearly as much facial hair in his early days, either.)
    • Audrey Marie and Garrett Dylan were in the background of the first WWE Wyatt Family promo, but were both released and didn't join the Family.
  • Real Song Theme Tune:
    • WWE bought the rights to Mark Crozer's "Broken Out In Love" so they could use it as Bray's theme song.
    • "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands", a public domain spiritual which Bray appropriated for his own purposes.
  • Referenced by...: Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC has an area with audio tapes belonging to a group of survivors named after the four members of the family. It’s a double reference for the Bray stand in, as his last name is Husky, which alludes to Bray's original "Husky Harris" gimmick.
  • What Could Have Been: Alexa Bliss lobbied to be a member of the group in NXT. She would eventually ally with Wyatt (and beforehand, Strowman, who wasn't part of the original lineup) years later.
  • You Look Familiar: Wyatt was Husky Harris. Luke Harper was known to indie wrestling fans (especially in CHIKARA) as Brodie Lee for years. Erick Rowan, on the other hand... his most notable run pre-Wyatt Family was probably as a lower-midcarder in Pro Wrestling NOAH named Thoruf. And even that was "superstardom" compared to Braun Strowman's profile before joining the group.
