Trivia: The Singing Bee
  • Dueling Shows: Fought against FOX's (comparatively higher-stakes and more Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?-esque) Don't Forget The Lyrics in 2007, and lost. Then the CMT version came along, proving successful after Lyrics got canned twice.
  • Hey, It's That Guy!: Joey Fatone was originally a member of 'N Sync. Melissa Peterman played Barbara Jean on the Sitcom Reba.
    • The CMT version's bandleader is a familiar name with an unfamiliar face: Steve Dorff, best known for co-writing several country music hits from soundtracks, including "Heartland" and "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait, "Every Which Way but Loose" by Eddie Rabbitt, "Coca-Cola Cowboy" by Mel Tillis, etc.
  • Un-Canceled: As mentioned above, it was revived for CMT with minimal changes except in personnel and song choices.
