Trivia / The Path

The following refers to the television series.

  • This blog entry by a fan of the show gives you a look at the real Huayna Picchu that Steve Meyer climbed. The picture in the opening credits animated sequence is fairly accurate. The lyric about Steve weeping in the song Russ sings to the children may be a reference to the Inca god Tiwanaku.
  • When Eddie does a web search on "is Meyerism real?" the first search result calls the movement "An increasingly popular form of volunteering among young people..." and the second talks about Our Founder: "Dr. Meyer was born in upstate New York in 1940 to a third-generation family of farmers. He was a bookish child, always more comfortable in the town library than on the farm milking cows or baling hay. Dr. Meyer was the first of his family to attend university, which led to an undergraduate degree in psychology. After completing his Ph.D. in psychology in 197... practice, Dr. Meyer joined the United States Army in an effort to pay..." The third result declares "Meyerism Lies! Meyerism is lying to you, Meyerism is being led from the Light. I know the truth, the conspiracy... principals of Meyerism are being weakened by the leadership and corruption of the community... bring Meyerism back to the correct path. Meyerism is LYING TO YOU." This is Alison Kemp's website.
  • Nicole says she went to the Scent of Jesus church in Flushing, MI. This is a real church, except it's called the Fragrance of Christ. The name refers to 2 Cor. 2:15, where the community of believers is called to "diffuse the fragrance of His knowledge in every place."
