Trivia Tropes:

  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Taiyou Akane, the youngest male Beast Knight, is voiced by Mutsumi Tamura and SuzAnne DeCarma in the Japanese and English versions of the anime adaptation, respectively.
  • God Never Said That: A supposed translation of an interview with Satoshi Mizukami stated that an anime adaptation by Studio Gainax with music by The Pillows was in the works, but the record companies didn't want to license the band and the deal fell through, with funding going to Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt instead. This claim was never verified, but that didn't stop the rumor from being propagated by disgruntled fans for several years.
  • Referenced by...: The character Satoshi Mizukami (水上敏志) from World Trigger shares the same name with Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer's author, Satoshi Mizukami (水上悟志). Both were born in Osaka, and Mizukami's tactic of deceiving his enemies by yelling "ASTEROID" before firing Hound bullets is a nod to a scene in penultimate chapter of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer where Mikazuki calls out an elaborately named punch before kicking Yuuhi in the face.
  • Self-Adaptation: Mizukami co-wrote the anime adaptation.
  • What Could Have Been: According to a deleted tweet from Mizukami, an executive staff member wanted to add several anime original elements to the adaptation, such as making Yuuhi a former assassin and his mother a murderer. None of those ideas panned out.

Misc:

  • The series contains several references to songs by The Pillows. When an anime adaptation finally premiered over a decade after the manga's completion, their song "I Know You" was used as the background music during the climax of Episode 11 where Samidare reconciles with her mom, while "Poem of Babylon Angel" became Episode 18's ending theme after Yuuhi learns the technique named after that very song.
