Trivia: The League

  • Actor Allusion - In the pilot, Taco attempts to draft a player from the Calgary Stampeders. Jon Lajoie, who plays Taco, is the only Canadian actor in the league.
    • The use of "frittata" in place of "retarded" comes from a joke in Nick Kroll's standup.
    • In "Flowers for Taco", Taco is revealed to be fluent in French when he stops smoking weed. In real life Jon Lajoie is from Quebec and is fluent in French.
  • Channel Hop: FX moved The League, along with Legit and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, to the comedy-focused spinoff channel FXX in fall of 2013.
  • Hey, It's That Guy!:
    • Paul Scheer.
    • Nick Kroll also appears periodically as Pawnee radio personality The Douche.
      • Both The League and Parks and Rec have frequently traded cast members as guest stars with each other. Hence Rafi doubling as a modern billionare and Andre as a rich, eccentric prankster.
    • Mark Duplass is well-known to indie film fans for his work as a respected writer and director.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!: George Lowe is the announcer of the "Viewer discretion advised" bumpers before the FXX broadcasts as well as the show's promos.
