Trivia / The Children of Húrin

  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: Most reviews showed complete ignorance of the history of the text, which is somewhat forgivable. However, it's rather hilarious to see reviewers who thought that it was being released (and in some cases written) principally to be fodder for another movie. (Christopher Tolkien alone owned the rights to anything that happened before the first page of The Hobbit, and never intended to licence any of it for adaptation).
  • What Could Have Been: The Dragon-helm, Túrin's ancestral helmet with an image of Glaurung the Dragon, disappears partway through the story and it is temporarily replaced by a Dwarf-made masked helmet. Tolkien's notes indicated that Túrin was supposed to come by it again and wear it when he faces Glaurung, but left no version of the text detailing it.
